LONDON -- Wolves newcomer Greg Buckner has worn No. 21 previously. But when the Wolves asked him if he’d like to wear No. 21 for them, he quickly turned the offer down and opted for No. 7. Celtics newcomer forward Kevin Garnett, a 10-time NBA All-Star, wore No. 21 in Minnesota. Buckner thought it would be insulting to wear Garnett's old number in Minnesota.

Whoever did that deserves a punch in the face.

How classless can you get? If the name weren't already taken, I'd do some tweaking to the site's style and rename it Celticsblog. I'm so sick of the stupidity and ignorance that's been shown by our front office over the past few months.

We should wait until he retires to officially retire the jersey, but it's just common sense and respect that no Timberwolf should ever wear 21 again. It deserves a permanent spot in the rafters next to Malik Sealy's.

And props to Greg Buckner for having the respect and decency that management is obviously lacking. I didn't really know anything about the guy before, but he's on my good side now.

OMG.... why on earth would they offer Buckner #21? KG may not be on the roster, but his legacy will live on. The front office is insulting KG and the fans by offering his number to someone else. That number should be retired.

I agree entirely with your sentiments...kudos to Buckner for turning down our dumb*** offer. Amazing. Just when you think the organization couldn't sink any lower...

I would hold my fire about both this story and the one about Glen Taylor's comments concerning Sebastian Telfair. The New York and Boston papers publish a tremendous amount of total crap concerning sports. If you don't beleive me, just check out some of their posts about their own teams at Hoopshype.com. Some of their speculation prior to the KG trade was absolutely rediculous. Their estimation of their own players in those markets is often way out of whack, too. They may have their own reasons to paint the Wolves in a bad light. Take any of their stories with a LARGE grain of salt.
