Which would get us down to 16 players. That leaves one more. Hmmm... I honestly don't know what they'll do.

From Brian Murphy/Pioneer Press:

The key acquisition for the Wolves was Walker, 31, a three-time all-star forward with career averages of 18 points and 7.9 rebounds. He was scheduled to arrive in Minnesota on Thursday night while Doleac, whose wife is pregnant, was not expected in town until today, Wittman said.
It was unclear whether one or both would play tonight against Milwaukee.

McHale said Simien would not be brought in, which means he likely will be released, bought out or traded before Monday, when regular-season rosters must be finalized.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

It looks like he has a good player profile, which saddens me that they will be cutting him....But Walker is a good player , and so is Doleac who will be a good center to back up Ratty n Mad dog.

I also regret that Simien is released. He showed some promise over the short streches he was healthy, but...this is the downside of him. He seems to be awfully injury prone.

Nontheless, I thought he might be a guy that should have been kept and sent down to the D-League. Talented big guys are not easy to come by and his contract is cheap ($997.800) with a second year on the team's option. So why not see if he can play a full season at the D-League, when you have to pay him a full year anyways?

He can't go to the D-League. This will be the third (and final) year of his rookie contract. Only players in their first TWO years in the league are eligible for the D-League.

It's a stupid rule that I think needs to be changed.

Dear College Wolf, you a constant source of in-depth NBA knowledge!

Thank you very much with a Howl on top for making that clear to the uninformed me.

By the way: This is indeed a very stupid rule, at least it should have an exeption clause that it should not apply to players who have not played a certain number of games in the NBA. If this league is thought to be an opportunity for seldomly used players to develop and compete for a roster spot, eligibility for the league should be defined by the number of regular season games played in the NBA and not by how long your contract ist already running!

But that is just my opinion...

I totally agree. If someone gets injured or came out of college after 1 year... that sucks they can only go to the D-League their first two seasons. Very lame. I think they should at least be eligible throughout their entire initial rookie contract (if not longer.) There will need to be changes if they want to make the D-League a true \"NBA minor league.\"

I'd rather keep Simien then Doleac and maybe even Walker.

I'm still stuck on what the Wolves will do to get to 15 players. For some reason, I think there will be another trade.

Yeah, it will be interesting. There has GOT to be more trades. Otherwise, they will be forced to cut and/or buyout players. It would obviously be better to buy them out since we'd pay less... but what players would take a buyout if they know they are going to get cut anyways (and would still get their full contract.)

I'm hoping that maybe Jaric will get dealt. I'm not sure who I'd rather be stuck with, him or Walker.
