Wow. Did he seriously give some of these answers?

http://www.twincities.com/timberwolves/ci_7371423

Here are some highlights:

\"The best Christmas gift I got was a Nintendo game when I was in high school.\"

- Really!?!? That's the best thing you could think of???

\"The worst thing I did as a kid? I stole some honey buns from the corner store. I was 8 or 9. Nobody ever found out.\"

- Lol, I believe it fatso.

\"My last meal? I'm a big fried chicken guy. That would be it. I'd wash it down with a Coke.\"

- Guaranteed.

\"If there was a fire in my house, the first thing I'd grab are my two championship rings (from college and the NBA).\"

- Granted, his kids must not live with him (at least I hope they don't) or wouldn't they be your #1 answer!?!?

\"If I could change any one thing about my life, I'd give myself a 45-inch vertical.\"

- No doubt. It would be 41 inches more than his current vertical.

\"I like hip hop and RB. Jay-Z is my favorite artist, and I'm a big R Kelly fan.\"

- Nice. I am a big R fan as well.

\"The best book I ever read was a tax book. It was about how to save money. I tried to apply what I learned.\"

- LOL what?!?!
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I'm a big-time golfer. I love golf. I have a 14 handicap. It's going to drop now because I'm in the cold. I picked up golf about five years ago. I play 36 holes a day in the summer.

36 holes a day is a heckuva lot of golf to play on a daily basis. It almost makes you wonder if he practices basketball A) before, B ) in-between or C) after the 2 rounds. My guess is there might be an option D involved here.

I try not to get angry much. What irritates me are people who prejudge you and don't know you. You've always got to get to know a person yourself.

I'm not really hating, believe me I could have been much worse. It's just that some of his answers are completely ridiculous. I do love him for his quotes and the unintentional comedy he provides.

I think it's okay to ridicule someone that is average on the court (at his very best) while being grossly and sickeningly overpaid.

Ridiculous answers???

He was being truthful. Just 'cause his views are a bit \"different\" than what you would be used to(or \"expecting\") doesn't make his answers \"ridiculous\".

He was joking when he did that joke about there not being any 4's....He was not joking when he answered Bob's questions. If anything, it is Bob who asked some \"ridiculous\" questions. I mean...asking someone if he's afraid of ghosts??? C'MON!

I like having you around #8. Always good to have somebody for CW to debate with. Before MWithers disappeared there were the Foye conversations, then there was the Theo debate with MadDog. Now some good back and forth about Antoine. Makes for some good reading!

I said ridiculous because of the fact that it really seems like he put little to no thought into some of his answers. I mean, your favorite Christmas gift EVER was \"a nintendo game.\" Seriously?!?! That is WEAK. He didn't even name a game. I mean, c'mon.

36 holes of golf a day in the summer? No wonder Riley thought he was out of shape.

Obviously I know that not every question was something that would require a totally serious answer, but I also wasn't ripping on everything he said either. Regardless of who answered these questions, I would have posted the same thing I did. It's not just because Antoine said it. Probably the only person that I wouldn't have ripped on would have been Gomes. If these were quotes by Gomes, I simply would have never posted a link to the article and prayed that none of you ever found it. ;)

I will admit to one thing. You do have somewhat of a point in regards to him considering getting a nintendo to be the best gift ever but I think he was thinking in terms of not the fact that he got a nintendo game from Christmas but probably WHO got him that nintendo game(his grandmother back then?). that's probably what he was alluding to. Then again, he probably wasn't and this whole debate is much ado about Nothing.

oh well... :silly:

I don't think you can assume it was from someone special??? I would have think he would have mentioned that, but who knows. I do agree that this is a rather pointless debate when there are a plethora of other things that we could actually be discussing... :woohoo:
