Perfect! Thank you everyone for your input. I know a lot more about Mr Kahn today than I did last week. I would rather have had Lindsey and Penn obvilously but this is better than McHale, Simmons or Hoiberg. (Simmons wasn't ever a serious consideration)

When I pull my club out of the bag I always think I'm going to land it on the green even though I am a shitty golfer. Kahn is a Timberwolf now. I will root for him to succeed and I will cry when he fails but I will watch him closly to see how he does.

Howl to czaras for doing actual factchecking and research.

I second the appreciation.

When I read about the articles czaras found, the optimist believes that Taylor is aware of this past and is willing to let Kahn overcome these past experiences, whether they were mistakes or not. The optimist hopes this will turn out to be a masterful hiring and Kahn can be the front office equivalent of a low-draft-pick-turned-superstar.

However, the pessimist in me sees the word "carpetbagger" and shudders. Is this the first step in pursuing another market for our team???

I'm doing my best to be optimistic. And I hope Kahn embraces the idea that everyone will be watching his every move, especially since I expect he'll keep everything as close to the vest as possible and we may miss the folksy candidness of our former GM.

While I am still not a believer after the Penn debacle, two thigns are sticking out to me:

1. Wolves fans everywhere are likely on the verge of getting their wish: a clean house in the front office. It is probably going to happen. Yet, I sense a bittersweet reaction.from everyone.

2. The guy seems pretty motivated if you ask me. While he was a giant douche bag in the presser, I like his confidence and drive. Us fans are used to so much worse, so I'll believe it when I see it.

3. His defense of being out of the league for 5 years being "I watch games on NBA League Pass" was a little silly. Clearly he needs to get back in the loop.

4. If his first move is firing McHale....what are people in this state going to think???

The clean house isn't happening.

Conditions of his hiring:

1. Be lowest paid GM in the league

2. Do everything Glen says

3. Keep Hoiberg

4. Mchale gets to choose if he wants to come back or not (he will)

Kahn is more than happy to agree to this because this was his only way back into the league. We're the only team dumb enough to hire this retread weasel.

Sorry to be pessimistic (realistic), but I agree with Roundhouse here...
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

I am very interested to see who he brings in to interview for the coaching position. I would think this process will begin ASAP. This will tell me a lot about him. Even though McHale seems like a decent coach for the most part, he just CAN'T hire him...he just can't.

I see all sides here, I really do. I guess we should find out in the next few weeks.

If he does, it will be Monster Epic Fail and everyone is going to hate him right off the bat.

Oh it's gonna happen.

Prepare to be even more disappointed, if that's even possible anymore.

Great post Twolf3234, howl to you for starting it, you are clearly entitled to voice your opinion and it is valid. Roundhouse is also entitled to piss on your thread because as everyone who's been here long enough knows that you aren't a member of the TWB family until Roundhouse gives you the ol' Chuck Norris fisting.

I'm not going to pretend I know Kahn... because I don't. Maybe he is a complete dick and runs our organisation to ground... but honestly, how is our organisation going at the moment? It's shyte.

Now we could either retain Hoiberg and Stack who at the moment is co-responsible for our current predicament, and to add further insult McHale is still here OR hire someone...(anyone will do at the moment) but the aformentioned names and give them a go, the worst that can happen is we finish last with a piss poor record and another chance at the lottery, or Taylor gets fed up and sells this team in which case we have another chance at a fresh start.

I think Kahn is going to let McHale go. Or McHale himself will say 'screw this', phone Danny Ainge and become a part of the Celtics FO (KG will cry). Whatever.

Sam Mitchell? Can we have at least him?

He MUST retain Hoiberg/Stack/Babcock for the time being. The draft is not far away and he just got here. He can't do it alone and he knows that. He's definately going to kick Stack and Babcock after the draft. I don't know about Hoiberg though.

I don't think Mchale is going to stay. Whether it is his choice or not the fact still remains that he is admitidley "cool" on the job. I think all indications are pointing to the best possible scenario for him to leave holding his head up.

Agreed.

Are we all in favor of Sam Mitchell then?

I'm in favor of Avery Johnson.

How good would the Mavericks be if they still had Avery Johnson and Devin Harris? The whole reason he got fired is because he hated the Jason Kidd trade.
