What kills me is that Brewer would be perfect with our team as currently constructed. He'd hustle, get his easy hoops and open shots like he did at Florida when Taureen Green (blast from the past eh?) would feed him. He could basically be that stopper and role player. Play Brewer, Rubio, Tolliver, Darko, and Love and you potentially have an above average defensive team.

Note: Brewer was not a good defensive player for us, especially under Rambis, but under Adelman I think he would do less gambling and more footwork.

I miss Corey Brewer's goat.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

So I was looking at the 76ers game and wondering how about Beasley for Turner? I know everyone here is a big Iggy fan, but Turner seems to have turned the corner this year unlike a similar lotto pick I know and I think philly needs big men?

It's intriguing and I would for sure do it. Not sure how Philly would react but I'm guessing they would pass...very quickly. Need to remember Beasley doesn't have much value.

We would (and should) have to overpay to get Turner. And I would do it in a heartbeat if Philly felt like they needed to shake things up. Unfortunately they are winning right now which makes them have absolutely no motivation to trade.

But yes, Turner would be a perfect fit in a lot of ways for our team. Plays D, rebounds, unselfish, creates his own shot...

Maybe Derrick Williams for Evan Turner straight up they would do, but even then only if Williams continues to play well and if Philly starts to slide a bit.

Positionally that trade makes sense for both teams and is pretty close in terms of talent. Maybe we give them some more front court help, like Pekovic plus Williams. I bet they'd do that.

Turner here would be amazing. I remember how everyone here including myself wanted him. He would make us a lot better. And yeah we would have to give up much for him. Trade anyone besides Rubio and Love!

Nice to see poeple remembering how great Brewer was. :cheer:

Having a Twitter disagreement with Zgoda on this.

I say Turner for Williams is a good swap for the Wolves because it takes a very talented young player at a position where we have depth (PF) and gets a possibly slightly less talented player at a position where we NEED players (SG).

We can't just keep stockpiling PFs because they are the most talented players available. Eventually that doesn't work.

I mean, we have Love who is untouchable. Then we have Williams, Beasley, Tolliver, and Randolph (in descending order of importance). So doesn't swapping Williams for Turner make sense where Turner is automatically the best SG on our team? I like Williams but unless you can convince Philly to take Pekovic, Beasley, and Wes for Turner, I don't think you get a guy like ET without Williams, and to me it's justifiable, in spite of the fact that I really like Williams.

I think I'd do it. We'd probably be overpaying a bit but Turner is looking a lot more like the player everyone thought he was when he got drafted. Although his lack of a 3 point shot is disconcerting. He would pair up well with Ridnour.

Turner would be great next to Ridnour and Williams. Turner and Rubio are a bit redundant, but whatever. It won't happen. Derrick Williams is the second coming of Amare Stoudamire apparently in the state of MN's opinion....

He does kind of remind me of Amare when he bulls his way to the hoop or throws down a power dunk but that's about all they have in common.

Exactly. Williams seems like a good kid but he is not certain to be a star. He is versatile and will be serviceable as a strong performing role player at worst.

Turner has a similar kind of versatility to him and in a worst case scenario would be a good contributing SG who might not be a star but who does a lot of little things well.

The biggest thing is that we need another legitimate perimeter creator and defender. Turner does both things well.

Pacers may be looking to ship Danny Grainger. Does Ridnour for Grainger straight up work for Indiana? Luke's contract is much better and he's playing well so far, and Grainger has been not so great. I'd expect regressions to the mean from both of them, meaning now would be a good time to sell on Luke and to buy on Grainger. Also Luke's game is Hoosiers all the way, and definitely belongs in Indiana. Any of you who have played pick up or intramural ball with kids from Indiana know what I mean.

Anyone have any objections to me moving the trade comments to a 2012 trade proposals thread?
