Lastly, those of you rationalizing the Wolves's bad starts with good finishes need to adjust your perspective and see the forest vs. the trees here. The Wolves have, I don't think, ever once had control of a game and have to fight and scrap for every win. I don't know what is going on with this poor start anomaly we are seeing but it is not a good thing.

It's only because Ricky isn't starting yet...oh wait

I mean seriously, what the hell is it? No one can ever seem to find a rhythm, even the best offensive players. It has happened in, I think, every game this season. Can we really blame Wes and Darko for this one? I feel like every game we are trailing by 8-10 by the 8 minute mark every single game.

It's a sign of an immature team, in my opinion.

Also because we don't have a go-to guy who can score without disrupting the flow of the offense, when we get behind a couple buckets it's hard to assert ourselves at the offensive end to get back in the game.

While I don't know how starting Barea would work out defensively, he has the right attitude and skillset to be that guy. Really too bad he's been hurt so much.

If we had an Iguodala, Granger, or Martin they'd fill that need too. If we had a Nick Young we'd be in the same boat we're in now.

Do you mean literally in terms of age ,or in terms of adapting to a fast paced offense with a lot of ball movement, or both?

A little of both, I guess. Mostly attitude/assertiveness. If you watch Wes J, and compare what he "could" do to what he actually does, it's that. Whatever Kobe, Tim Duncan, and MJ had/have. The "stop screwing around, we need a bucket here and it IS going to happen" feeling. Not only the ability to have that feeling, but the knowledge and maturity of when to use it.

Rubio is a mature player in some ways and he knows to kick that ability in at the end of games, but nobody, including him, recognizes the need to kick that same urgency in at the beginning of games so there isn't a hole to dig out of. You can talk about it all you want after games, but nobody plays with urgency in the early minutes. Sloppy.

I guess that's why I call it a maturity issue. In our case, not only do we not have the attitude but we don't have someone with the ability to score regularly without disrupting the flow.

The Wolves start out bad because you have a PG playing SG and a bench warmer starting at SF.

Ding ding ding... we have a winner.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Nothing personal, but this always makes me laugh. Keep up the good work, Wolfenstein!

What the hell? All of a sudden I'm Wes Johnson? That sucks... how many more posts do I need to make to make that change?

That's what you get for ripping on my assuming the collective 1st person with this team. OUR team.

You're Wes Johnson. Boom, roasted.

Sorry, I just got done updating all the rankings. I think the next threshold is 50 posts, I believe? Or maybe 100? I dunno... better start posting more to get away from being Wes!

:silly: :woohoo:

What's funny is spkriegs isthe 2nd person to complain about the rankings today!

Also, good call on the use of 'we.' I do that constantly and have been making a conscious effort to correct it.

I read that article too. It misses the point of being a fan. Screw ownership stakes and logic, many of us have an emotional stake in this team, disfunctional as it may be. This is our team.

I'm not ashamed.

Agreed. But I just noticed the tendency in my own writing and started to get annoyed with myself. I still do it all the time.

Good thing you agreed with me man, I'm one Wes Johnson panic jumpshot away from going "Celtic Pride" on someone's ass.
