I love this column every year. The 2nd part is coming in about an hour. It will include the Top 26, which will include Love & Rubio. But in the first part of the column, Big Pecker is #51 and Derrick Williams is #31. Wow, 4 Wolves in the top 51!

Awesome, thanks for the heads up on this!!!

Remember when the only Wolf on the list was Alco Jefferson? God... that sucked. We sucked. :S

But now FOUR in the Top 51?!? That's awesome. Way to recognize, Bill.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Simmons has been riding the Wolves hard all year. Looking forward to reading this, thanks for posting.

In general, btw, Grantland is a fantastic site. They have assembled some absolute top-tier talent to contribute to that site. Usually excellent writing quality. Jonathan Abrams' oral history of the Malace at the Palace was a fascinating, HUGE piece that I read over a period of like a week.

I love their TV episode recaps of The Walking Dead.

In the Pek paragraph Simmons says, "Pek has been giving us..." How many teams is he a fan of these days? Bandwagon

Someoen explain to me how Derrick Williams is ranked higher than James Harden when OKC would clearly NOT make that trade and the Wolves would do it in a heartbeat. I think BS is losing track of his own rules on these rankings.

Yes, that Malace at the Palace article was a 10 out of 10 on the interesting/behind-the-scenes-tidbits scale.

Also, I had forgotten the actual basketball implications behind it, and how the Pacers went from top contender to troubled team just like that.

Biggest epic fail in the entire article:
Who says no to a "Derrick Williams and the Anthony Randolph/Anthony Tolliver expirings for Josh Smith" swap? (Answer: Minnesota.)

WHAT?!?!? No way would I ever say no to that!!! You're killing me with that Bill.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Yea I don't understand this either but I think 90% of wolves fans would say no to that trade for no other reason than being scared of getting "burned" by trading D-Will. The way I see it is, wouldn't we be happy if D-Will turns out to be as good as Josh Smith? So why not just take the sure thing right now. He's only like 26 years old, and we would have an exciting young playoff team that actually has a chance of advancing out of the 1st round. The Hornets have our draft pick, there is no point in not trying to win as much as possible.

Well first of all D-Charge will never be as good as Josh Smith overall (specifically: defensively.) But yeah, we definitely need to win as much as possible this year and going forward. No use waiting on Williams who may or may not ever develop into anything.

Josh Smith loves his ill-advised jumpshots though. If you could take Mike Beasley and literally combine his best attributes with those of Josh Smith, then well.

Take a look at his boxscores though and tell me that still matters. I don't think it does. He's been a total beast and is one of the best defensive players in the league. That's all ya need to know.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to do that trade. Simmons has also ridden AR's dong for 3 years.

Yea...you've been 'Sportscentering it' I see. Those days are gone. He take ill advised shots a few times a game like every player.

Simmons is out his mind. That trade would be a heist.

Tonight was yet another indicator...Trade him while people still think he's a superstar in the making. Granted, I'd love for a Jeff Green type of player to emerge. But if the consensus opinion is something closer to Melo, trade him now!

Kevin Love's nickname is his full name said together — he's never called "Kevin" or "Love," just "Kevinlove."

Solid.
