New bits from Hoopshype this afternoon:

Adrian Wojnarowski: Portland's talks with Minnesota on a Jamal Crawford deal are gathering momentum again, sources tell Y! Sports. Twitter

Chad Ford (1:38 PM) I love that story ... "Beasley is a VERY hot topic ..." and "many" teams are interested ... and it's from a Minnesota source. What do you think they're going to say? No one wants the guy. Clearly they want to move him and clearly they're trying to create a market for him. Whether any of this is actually real? I haven't found a team dying to get their hands on Beasley. I think some would take him for the right price ... but teams are lined up to give away assets for him. ESPN.com

Alex Kennedy: Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves discussed a Jason Richardson for Michael Beasley swap. Nothing imminent. Wolves weighing options. Twitter

Bill Ingram: Houston also interested in Beasley, but sources says there are so many things being discussed nothing is "close." Twitter

Alex Kennedy: Sources say the Utah Jazz are shopping C.J. Miles. The New Jersey Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves are among the teams showing interest. Twitter

The Houston Rockets are shopping Courtney Lee, according to sources close to the situation. Houston has talked to a number of teams that are looking for shooting guards, including the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Clippers. The Rockets are asking for a lot in return for Lee, which may keep a deal from going down. With that said, if Houston’s asking price comes down in the next day and a half, Lee may be dealt. Nothing is going to happen because Kahn is a scared biatch when it comes to making trades.

The only ones he makes are minor financial moves or the no risk moves for players the other team doesn't want like Randolph or Beasley.

The funny thing is that in hindsight 2 2nd round picks is starting to look better than Beasley and it makes me sick that Kahn traded Brewer for Randolph and Eddy Curry's $10 million salary. The opportunity loss of all that cap space was a real fyck up.

Yes, this is very true. Sometimes I forget about that one. Didn't we do the same with Theo's expiring contract? Was that in the McHale or KAHN era?

I think that was McFail. The real messed up thing w/ that was they were saying for the past year how they wanted to see Al playing next to a defensive center. Then when Theo finally got healthy, they bought him out to save like a couple hundred thousand dollars.

And you guys think had we kept Brewer we would have resigned him like Dallas did? No. He was gone regardless of that trade.

Had Lord Adelman been around I have no doubt we would have kept and re-signed Brewer. Brewer is the exact type of player Adelman thrives with- talented but in a weird, atypical way (think the Chuck Hayes of wings) that most coaches would not know what to do with but Adelman would just soak up every ounce of that energy and send it towards wins.

I mean, I actually believe this. Brewer and Joakim Noah some ugly chick would play all the time for Adelman and he would figure out how to cover their weaknesses as he did with Hayes and Martin in Houston.

P.S. wouldn't Joakim Noah some ugly chick be the perfect match next to Kevin Love, outside of the fact that you would then have to look at him her every game?

Yes I completely slammed that deal at the time, and a lot of people liked it. Hopefully none of you.

Despite how it turned out for Melo in NY, Kahn was a dipshyt for not leveraging his position to get more from NY. At the time getting Melo was a huge move in the NBA and it happened because Kahn facilitated it and agreed to take on the Curry contract. All he got was Anthony Randolph, while giving up a much better player in Corey Brewer IN ADDITION.

Typical Kahn move. Jaded view of value. But of course some loved it because AR "had potential."

Yes horrible move at the time, even worse now. That one gets an F minus from me. I'm not even lamenting the loss of Brewer, but to completely waste a chance to use 15 million in cap space in a buyer's market was just so completely moronic. We could have Gerald Wallace or similar player on this team for the past year. For the dirt cheap price of cap space and a middling draft pick.

Concur.

In other news per Crawford's agent he is headed to Minny for Beasley. Blake to Portland. Beasley to LA. LA sends a first to Portland as well.

And we gave up Koufos too who is actually decent now and probably better than AR himself ...WTF?!?!?!

Seems like a decent trade for all parties involved, although the Lakers getting even more thin at PG surprises me. And don't they have like a zillion SF's already (Peace/Barnes/Ebanks/Walton)?

As a Wolves fan I'll take it. We will be losing Beas anyway, and it gives us a guy who can shoot, put up points in bunches, and play a little point if need be. And it sounds like he really wants to be here, which should not be understated.

I don't know why the Lakers would balk at giving up that pick for Ramon Sessions but then use it to get Beasley. I guess they are getting the added bonus of ridding themselves of Steve Blake's contract but still, I would go for Sessions.

Oh man, I've been watching PHI-IND for about 5 minutes and it is making me want to resurrect the Evan Turner trade ideas. Both Williams and Turner are playing well right now. I would still totally trade Williams for Turner. Great passer, hustler, defender, much better fit.
