In happier news Ricky is scheduled to undergo surgery March 21st...Good news because I was expecting the swelling to run into April which would mean it would take longer...So this certainly increases the chances he'll be ready to go by the Season opener, if not a month or so after

There's no chance in hell Rubio is back for the season opener. ACL no matter how much the medical field has advanced is still a serious injury. AP tore his back in December and he might be lucky enough to play in September. If I was GM Peterson would be on the PUP list and playing week 7 so he is 100% healthy. Recovery is somewhere around 8-12 months and i'd lean more towards 10 months. Rubio will be lucky to be playing before new year's, but probably somewhere around February

No way, it really depends on how hard he works. Football is way more difficult of an injury to recover from than basketball with the pounding you take, especially a running back..And in AP's case he tore more than his ACL if I recall. If I look at the example being David West, he had surgery to repair his ACL in Mid April of last season and was back on the court when league play resumed on December 26th, so roughly an 8th month recovery, and he probably would've been able to play earlier...So it really depends

Ricky Rubio back by the season opener... funny joke.

As MP said - no way in hell.

Also don't ya think we'd be extra cautious with Ricky?

We aren't rushing him (nor should we being he is so young)

Flipped over to the game and we're down 42-27 and it's almost half-time. Yuck. Ok.... back to the NCAA Tournament.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

DFS, you mixin' the Brother Jack with red wine again? Only way the Lakers only score 76 or less tonight is if the game is cancelled after 3!

I always check the box scores, but my impression is that Ridnour has upped his game quite significantly since Ricky went out. I had him on a fantasy team for awhile. He always seemed to implode after about 4-5 decent shooting games - his inconsistency was making me crazy.

Pek is looking pretty tough. He seems to finally realize that he is bigger and stronger than most other NBA players. Tuned in about halfway through the 2nd and Pek made a couple of nice plays. Granted, it was Gasol trying to guard him, but that's when he (Pek) needs to make his play, because he won't be able to muscle Bynum like that!

It took Amare over a full calendar year to get back to 100% and that is considered one of the most successful microfracture surgeries ever on a pro athlete. There is no way Ricky is back by opening day.

Hey, 'house, you can't say that it's impossible for that to happen. Consider that the stresses on the joints, etc., of a person of Howard's size are generally proportionately greater than they are on someone of Rubio's size. Regardless of size differentials, people heal at different rates. Rubio could make it back. I haven't seen anything regarding the relatively severity of his injury or any sort of prognosis.

They're doing a sideline interview with Christian Ponder right now.

"We've obviously got a great GM in Rick Spielman"

   Good one Ponder, great to see you have such a rich sense of humor.

Why would Ricky even try to come back that early??? And why would we want him to?

Take all the time he needs to recover and get fully healed...

However, I will add that Wes Welker was back playing again after 9 months.

Tough loss again.

I think it's pretty apparent at this point that we're out of the playoff picture. It's just not possible without Rubio.

:(

Better luck next time - against somebody else, of course!
