Wes = slightly more talented Gerald Green, only he actually can shoot and plays *some* D. Super athletic, has the tools, but just doesn't have all the tools plus missing the instinctive component to be a star.

In my opinion you will drive yourself nuts hoping that guys like that magically develop that late in life. The only legitimate complaint is the perpetual "if I had the same tools that guy has, I'd be Jordan or Kobe." Which is probably a total fallacy, but I digress.

Beasley has everything he needs but refuses to take himself and his job seriously enough to be extremely successful. That's why I think he will end up being Lamar Odom 2.0. So many similarities between them, I don't know where to start.

Wes of course. Good thoughts all around. Beas is frustrating but he has almost single handedly won us (and lost) more than a few games over his time here and Wes has contributed literally nothing other than a sweet clutch block against Monta Ellis on game winning shot attempt late in the Rambis era. That was Wes' only impactful moment (aside from his first NBA field goal being a soaring dunk on Luther Head's head).

...But I really think Barea should be added to the "maddening" discussion. Sure, he had a triple dub the other night and has come up huge in that Jazz game last month (like Beasley himself in that game and others), but man does that guy know how to make you rip up a program and throw it down a few rows. His game sort of reminds me of Jonny Flynn, only he actually does plenty of good things here and there.

Barea plays "NBA 2K" basketball. Reminds me of watching someone play a video game with his shot selection. He takes the oddest shots... completely out of the flow of the offense...just a millimeter of space...yet many still go in. He is the ultimate "no, no, no, no, no...YES!" player. It's the one's that don't drop that lead to fan violence and Kevin Love bench outbursts.

Also I think it was Wolfenstein who mentioned expectations. A good point, but Wes was the #4 pick in the NBA draft, and the "best SF" at the time. Shouldn't we have high(er) expectations for this? It's the fact that Wes has been SOOO terrible that have lowered those expectations to what they are today: "An 8 point, 3 rebound night for Wes! YES! Nice work!"

NBA body of work? Wes, still, by a long shot, even if you consider college hype/draft position. Beasley has at least shown he has NBA ability even if his career continues to 'flatline' as roundhouse put it. Beasley will still have a 10-year+ long career as a double digit scorer, and probably a 3 year MLE contract this summer. Wes MIGHT get a 2nd contract (probably from Kahn...4 years, $16 million aka the Kahn special).

Wes is/was such a worthless #4 overall pick. I can't believe we get excited when he puts up the statline of an end of the bench guy. Even worse, he starts, plays a bunch of minutes, and usually just sucks.

Udoh or Greg Monroe would look pretty damn sweet on our team right about now. Both guys I wanted...

:(
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Well, it's true. And documented on the TWB Front Page Draft Prep articles we collectively all did.

Udoh would have been a maddening 4th overall pick. He was a terrible pick by GS and a huge reach at #6 over Monroe. Wasn't he like 23 when he was drafted? I remember thinking we could have gotten him with one of our later picks.

Nice defensive player, though...but a guy you can sign in free agency for $3 million.

The answer was really what we have said recently and in hindsight: Paul George at 4 or in a trade-back deal.

Or Whiteside at 4! I remember a lot of us liked him at the time. Epic fail prediction.

Yea, his point CW is chill with that. We get it. You also jumped on my Kevin Love for AR/David Lee trash too.

Let's not pretend we're all genius armchair GM's. Simply being better than Kahn is no special feat.

They should trade Wes for DeShawn Stevenson. Another terrible player that at least will scare the sh*t out of the opposition.

I would do that trade for the sole reason that Stevenson has an expiring contract and Wes does not.
