Draft-day is near & the rumours are starting to pile up.
I think consus here in the board is, that this summer could be one of the most important ones for years for the Wolves - in a good or bad way, though....

I get one here, thaht could be interesting:

Shaun Powell: Hornets will entertain offers for 10th pick if someone also agrees to take Ariza or Okafor contracts. Twitter

What you guys think `bout it? I'm not sure, cause Arizas stats are just mediocre & he's a bit overpaid:

41G 41GS 32.9MPG 0.417SH% 0.333SH3% 0.775FT% 1.0 OFF 4.2DEF 5.2RPG 3.3APG 1.7SPG 0.6BPG 1.8TO 1.8PF 10.8PPG

But on the hindsight, now that Iggy, Granger, Thabo & probably even Mayo are off the table, he's one of the better wingdefender left. And with the pick Nr.10 we could get a - maybe risky, but interesting - Perry Jones III for our SF:

Rubio - Ariza - Perry Jones III - Love - Pek

I'm not sure bout this, though...

And this one could be another intersting option:

"Now, after a disappointing first-round exit to the Los Angeles Clippers in this year’s postseason, the likelihood of a trade involving Gay is much higher. League sources expect Memphis to shop Gay, who is owed $53,666,790 over the next three years. Gay is no longer considered untouchable, and he could be on the move in the next few months if the right offer comes along. HoopsWorld"

Wasn't Gay a main target earlier anyway?

Webster, Ellington, and #19 pick for Ariza and #10 pick.

Then hope Jeremy Lamb falls. If that doesn't happen, draft Kendall Marshall and hold him ransom to any team that wants an awesome young PG. Or package him and D-Will together for the wing player that this team is missing.

Yes, I am for it. I think the Wolves could definitely use Ariza. He would instantly be our best wing defender by far. He can also hit 3's as much as any of our current wings can. And he is a solid team player who plays smart basketball. I've always liked him.

So much faith in Kahn RH. That would take soooo much of his brain power. And you know if he drafts Marshall he's going to keep him to give the team its fifth PG on the roster and say that he's a great complement to Ricky or some shit.

I like this move. Improves the draft pick and gives us a nice small forward on a reasonable salary. Ideally the #10 would be flipped in a deal for a 2 along with Williams.

#10 pick and Williams is a nice package.

That's a fricken great package. Williams with the playing time at a 4 would be better than what he is now (still not giving up hope that he can be a starter on the team) along with a top 10 pick. That should be enough for harden and aldrich.

I don't think the #1+Williams would be a no brainer for OKC.

Correct.

Beard can and will be OKC #1 priority. They will do whatever it takes to keep him. Pipe dream should end.

This.

Heck yeah do it asap! I'm not a huge Ariza fan, but he's definitely a solid wing defender. And he's not *THAT* badly overpaid. And we get the #10 pick to boot?!? For sure let's do that. There are a ton of guys I'd like at #10. Or trade it! Either way works!
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I agree with this. Except for the earlier Perry Jones 3 comment.

Have. You. Watched. Him. Hoop?

He's bawful. He is built like KG and likes to hang around the perimeter so everyone starts making turrble comparisons like KG, T-Mac, hell, even Anthony Randolph is an invalid comparison.

I like NOTHING about drafting PJ3. You all can laugh at me if he becomes a star. I will go iceskating in hell with you all.

I wouldn't call this a no-brainer move, but it's damn close. Ariza would easily be the best wing on our team at the moment. His PER is over a full point higher than Beas, a stat which barely even factors in defense, which is Ariza's area of strength.

D-Will, the #10 pick, and maybe one of Ridnour/Barea would be enough to fill the other wing position with a high quality player.
Last Edit: 11 months 2 weeks ago by roundhouse.

Couldn't agree more. And Ariza only makes $7 million per year, which really isn't that bad at all. And he's young. AND the very good defense.......

Since this trade should have happened yesterday, it probably means Kahn has zero interest in doing it. I hate him so much.

Ariza and Afflalo. Done. Trade Rubio and Williams for Westbrook and Jrue Holiday.

Westbrook
Holiday
Afflalo
Ariza
Love

All UCLA team.

Seriously though, Ariza and/or Afflalo would be awesome compared to the shitstorm we have at the 2/3. No offense to anyone involved. We just have narrow roleplayers being asked to fill much too large roles.
