CW, I feel your pain!
When I saw this on ESPN around 7AM here, I knew you guys had already received the news. As soon as I got my coffee, I got online to see what your reactions were.
Pretty much as expected.
I picked up Budinger for awhile on one of my fantasy teams last season. He shot well for a few weeks, then went kind of cold, so I dumped him.
This probably wasn't his fault. In checking his stats, he appears to be pretty consistent over the season. He lit it up from outside the arc in more than a few games last season.
Problem would seem to be that he only averages about 21-22 min/game. Is this a guy that can step up and play 30-35 min/game? If he does, will he continue to produce or will he lose some of his accuracy?
Ideally, for the 'Wolves, he increases his min played by 50%+ and his scoring goes from just under 10 to 15+/game. That would help you - obviously.
But, to give up a first round pick - even at #18 - seems to be over-valuing his probable worth. Couldn't Kahn have just given up a 2nd & a 4th round pick to get him and keep the 1st round pick - even at #18 - for a SG with potential?
Yeah, I looked at that bit of news and thought, "Really?"
BTW, what's the news on Rubio's recovery?
