I know the feeling. It's pretty refreshing not having a lottery pick and having to follow all the repetitive draft coverage. I have completely ignored 90% of it this year.

I feel like we could've gotten #18 for bud like at anytime, but the rockets really want howard, so I really think we should've held out for a better deal, aka one that gave us a second rounder or better yet turn webster/ellington into courtney lee or K-mart.

Even though both aren't like game changers, they can still be better assets than we currently hold.
Kahn is a worthless POS. Heaven forbid he actually do somethign to REALLY improve this team. Almost every other GM walks all over him.

Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Budinger was originally picked 16 picks AFTER Wayne Ellington in that draft.

Kahn also picked Nick Calathes at #45 and Henk freakin Norel at #47. Jonas Jerebko was picked at #39. Jodie Meeks at #41. Marcus Thornton(!) at #43. Danny Green at #46 (:( ) Can't imagine it would have been hard to trade up for ANY of those guys. OR... freakin take one of them instead of Wayne Ellington.

Kahn is such an epic failure. He has no idea what he's doing regarding evaluating actual NBA talent. I can't believe cheapass Glen Taylor is keeping him around. Oh wait... I can believe that.

CW, I feel your pain!

When I saw this on ESPN around 7AM here, I knew you guys had already received the news. As soon as I got my coffee, I got online to see what your reactions were.

Pretty much as expected.

I picked up Budinger for awhile on one of my fantasy teams last season. He shot well for a few weeks, then went kind of cold, so I dumped him.

This probably wasn't his fault. In checking his stats, he appears to be pretty consistent over the season. He lit it up from outside the arc in more than a few games last season.

Problem would seem to be that he only averages about 21-22 min/game. Is this a guy that can step up and play 30-35 min/game? If he does, will he continue to produce or will he lose some of his accuracy?

Ideally, for the 'Wolves, he increases his min played by 50%+ and his scoring goes from just under 10 to 15+/game. That would help you - obviously.

But, to give up a first round pick - even at #18 - seems to be over-valuing his probable worth. Couldn't Kahn have just given up a 2nd & a 4th round pick to get him and keep the 1st round pick - even at #18 - for a SG with potential?

Yeah, I looked at that bit of news and thought, "Really?"

BTW, what's the news on Rubio's recovery?

See this? Ben Gordon for Corey Maggette.

news.yahoo.com/pistons-deal-gordon-bobca...-022238236--spt.html

Your buddy Kahn couldn't have traded that pick for Gordon? Detroit wanted to dump his contract.

Can't imagine that Gordon wouldn't have been able to fill that SG spot, especially with your supporting cast of Love, Rubio, Pek . . .

SIGH.

As I have said many, many, many times already... Kahn is just freakin worthless. Is he doing anything besides deals that land in his lap? I refuse to believe he "went out and got" Budinger. Houston just wanted our draft pick so they can try to get Dwight Howard...

No..Ben Gordon has a horrible contract. Not that the Wolves would spend that type of money but I don't like it.

Kahns #1 job for Glen Taylor is to save him money. Unfortunately, the fans are the ones who get screwed in all this because they are unwilling to put a better product on the floor. Budinger plays like Webster but is cheaper, so it's a done deal.

Oh come on my dude. EVERY NBA team passed on those guys at least once. Every one of them. You're just getting irrational because you're mad.

I understand the Rockets are also looking to move Kyle Irving in order to sweeten the pot they want to offer Orlando for Howard. I presume that the Magic have at least one 1st round pick of their own. Give up Howard for four-1st rounders plus . . . ????

Somebody - with a brain - might be able to do something with that, don't you think?

Wasn't looking at the contract situation - I was just considering the hole you all seem to agree you need to fill at SG and reading the Rockets are also trying to trade Irving and wondering which would have been the better fit in terms of creating a better team.

Yes, I'm mad because Kahn totally, utterly sucks at his job.

Please tell me what Kahn has done besides the no-brainer Rubio pick? I think the Kahn elimination game speaks for itself.

I mean Nick Calathes and Hen Norel?!? If he had any idea what he's doing, he could have gotten at least one of those guys...

Sorry bud but the Rockets do not have Kyrie Irving. They do however have Kyle Lowry who they are looking to trade.

My bad. I even went and looked it up to make sure I wasn't confusing the two. Then, I confused it anyway! (Must have been that third margarita?)

That's my story.

Yeah, Lowry, not Irving. Kyle, not Kyrie.
