Anyone who sees this as a Kahn move has blinders on. This was clearly Rick Adelman-driven. I'm not necessarily saying that is a good thing, but it sorta matters. I fully believe Kahn went out with the express purpose of getting Chase specifically. It wasn't like the deal "fell in his lap." Be rational.
I think that is an assumption as well. IMO KAHNman saw Air Bud drop 35 in person, becaome enamored with him (as KAHNcer is one to do) and figured he found a diamond in the rough that would fit well on our team. Adelman also liked him...KAHN obviously liked this, he most definitely wants to get on Rick's good side.
Who knows? But it's always fun speculating on the Kahn office politics. Remember when we did a "choose your own adventure" in the forums a few years ago on the McHale regime? We should do that again.
It's a bad trade for a decent player. Not to toot my own horn, but those 8 words sum it up perfectly. I am on this ship now, officially.
I fear the imminent non-activity. Given what Portland and Houston are about to do, the Wolves will absolutely miss the playoffs again without a major asset acquired.
Can we start Martell Webster trade ideas now? His contract as an asset becomes void in 4 days.
Prediction: Kahn keeps him for next year. And I'm sad I will be out of internet range on that day so I will not be able to partake in the wrath that occurs on these forums when it happens.
