And also Vrankovich. I thought I was the only one who remembered him. Best candidate for a cigarette ad the Twolves ever employed.

AHAHAHA LOREN WOODS!!!! Oh man, what's he up to. Is there a difference between him and Ryan Hollins? They are the exact same thing, except Loren Woods was fyckin sweet.

After playing twice in Lithuania (Žalgiris Kaunas), in Turkey (Efes Pilsen), in Spain (CAI Zaragoza), and in Lebanon (Al Riyadi Beirut), he now plays in Iran for Zob Ahan Isfahan...
Hahaha awesome, HOWL to you MTV! :woohoo:

Bad news: a direct concurrent of the Wolves in the race for the 4th seed is getting stronger: :(

The LAC seem to be close to an agreement with Matt Barnes

Paul/Bledsoe-Chauncy/Crawford/Green-Hill/Butler/Barnes-Griffin/Odom/Turiaf-Jordan/Hollins

I don't like them at all, but they're pretty deep now!
I guess the starting five will be Paul-Chauncy-Hill-Griffin-Odom; with Crawford (in his best role) & Butler: as 6th men.

They're strong, but they will die angainst the Lakers with this lineup...

Ehh, He ain't putting that team over the top. I'm more worried about Grant Hill and Odom.

You guys have to stop talking about the Wolves as a homecourt advantage playoff team. You are only setting yourself up for disappointment. There is no logical reason to expect us to finish higher than half of: LAL, OKC, San Antonio, LAC, Dallas, or Denver.

I know, right???? That's what I've been saying this entire time, lol. We will be lucky to get a 7th or 8th seed, at best. I'm not being negative at all here either... simply realistic.

In my humble opinion (Fun fact of the day, Daddy was voted "biggest ego" in HS. I refused to take a picture of that for the yearbook...so the point is, I have no "humble" opinions, they are usually arrogant ones), The Wolves will be somewhere between the 6 and 9 seeds. If things go absolutely awesome for the Wolves and shitty for teams like Utah, Dallas, and Memphis, that 6th seed is attainable. This is not likely. If things go very badly - Rubio isn't himself until 2014, AK is injury prone, Roy can't play, Shved ain't ready, etc., I expect them to miss the playoffs by a slim margin.

Unfortunately, that worst case scenario is more likely. let's expect something in between 6 and 9 and only be disappointed if they don't make the playoffs.

What everyone I talk to and in much of what I read fails to consider is the fact that soooo many other teams in the West have improved. It's not as if every other team was stagnant while the Wolves improved. Utah got a bit better and Haywood and Favors will improve. the Nuggets are better and McGee/Faried will improve. The Warriors are better and healthy (for now). Clearly both LA teams have improved.

Good stuff all-around, Daddy. Totally agree. Howl!

And don't forget Dallas, they got waaaay better.

Absolute best case scenario is the 4th seed, with worst case being 9th or 10th. I think we will end up with the 6th seed. Like The Daddy said the West is really deep AGAIN. It just never ends. If we can avoid the Lakers and OKC in the 1st round of the playoffs, I will consider the season a success.

Oh man, the sixth seed against maybe San Antonio!? That would be the perfect matchup. Denver is too athletic and skilled at too many positions. I'd much rather they face the Spurs who had tons of trouble with Pek and Love last season.

And CW, I guess I see what you mean about Dallas. but it could easily go one of two ways. They could be legit and grab the 4th-7th seed or it could go really poorly. There is a high probability that Kaman pulls a Kirilenko and is injured a ton. there is a high probability that mayo isn't ready for more tick. etc...

Fair observation. I just don't see Dallas being worse than last year. They have better guys at every position except SF and starting PF (Dirk.) Brand has been killing it, and he's their backup PF for crying out loud. That's solid. Plus last year was coming off the lockout and all that, and they had roster turnover. Even despite being worse than they had been in years, they were still a playoff team. I just don't see how they couldn't be much better than they were last year.

I agree with CW that Dallas made some very solid moves without hindering future flexibility. Kaman, Brand, Collison, Dahtay Jones and Mayo. Nothing to sneeze at. I wonder how they will fare without Kidd. But they are quietly about on the Wolves level and will certainly be a team the Wolves will be hotly competing with.

I got into an argument recently at a Dallas bar with a guy who claimed Dirk was top 5 all time. Another guy was in on the convo who I would guess is a long lost cousin of DaddyFatSax and we enjoyed about a 25 minute laugh.

Also. The Wolves are doing 'extensive homework and background checks' on Whiteside per Doogie Wolfson. Probably because he is black.
