Woohoo that would be sweet! It's probably overpaying a bit, but he's only 23 years old and he's awesome. And he could be one of the better defensive players in the league before long. I couldn't complain too much.

He would do wonders getting huge minutes for us with Beasley gone and Wes Johnson (hopefully) benched forever. This is happiness:

I have no idea if Portland will match or not, but I would guess yes since Indiana will match the offer they gave Hibbert.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Best idea of a move Kahn has made since becoming GM... will it pan out, probably not...but I appreciate the effort

That's a lot of money but I guess you gotta pay to improve. I hope we get him but I have a suspicion that the Blazers will match even though that's a lot more than they wanted to pay him.

So if we got Batum that would mean that D-Will is 100% traded right? I don't see how they could possibly get him any playing time.

I would hope so!

If Kahn got Batum and then traded D-Charge for something that was actually good, it makes overpaying for Batum much more palatable.

What works to me is the Wolves sign Batum then Get in a 3 way deal with the Lakers and Magic...Don't know the exact details but it would involve

Orlando: Bynum & Williams

Lakers: Howard

Wolves: Gasol

I would assume there be a lot more parts being moved, but I think it could happen. The Magic would be getting back the 2 best players for Howard yet...A lot better than what the nets were going to offer...The Wolves could throw in their extra first round pick too, and I'm sure Orlando will get some other good shit...The Lakers get their man in Howard

Worst trade ever! The Wolves are getting the worst and oldest player. No thanks.

And the worst thing is that we are helping the Lakers to be a good team again.

Yeah, I wouldn't do that either.

The problem is that next year without Rubio will sorta be a lost season. He won't be back for a long while, so there's no reason to expect playoffs or anything. So if we get Gasol's monster contract, why do we need him next year? So then after that we'd only have 1 more year of an even older Gasol, before he becomes a free agent.

If Gasol's deal was at least 3 years, then I'd go for it. Although, it would still need to be for less money. He is making a ridiculous $19 million per year!

Well, Pau gets us into the playoffs right now imo, Batum replaces Williams as far as a 3 goes (better fit)...What are you looking to do..Keep Williams and Sign Roy? that doesn't do anything for us as far as I'm concerned

How exactly are the wolves getting worst & oldest player. Pau Gasol is worse than D-Will? Ha that's the funniest thing I've heard all year.

Gasol's contract will be up after next season. It doesn't hinder our ability to re-sign any of our key guys in the slightest.

Apparently you guys just don't want to be good and make the playoffs? This trade doesn't even help the Lakers much, Bynum was just as good as Howard last year.

Only way I'd want Gasol in that deal is if his name was Marc.

Agreed, Wolves fans are fickle...Make up your minds...Do you want to be young and bad for the foreseeable future or do you want to actually be good right now?..There's only so many options out there....Personally, I'm sick and tired of losing...Whether you like Pau or you don't, the guy can play...On a team with Bryant and Bynum and an offense that sucked, he still put up 17 and 10. You think Derrick Williams is putting that up next year? Adelman would get the most of out of him too...I'm all in on getting him here.

I meant the worst player from the Howard-Bynum-Gasol trio.
I don't see how could Gasol improve this team by much. Could you imagine a Gasol-Love duo on defense? We need some strong player to play next to K-Lav. Better use the money to bring Iggy.

The Howard-Bynum swap has nothing to do with us. Our end of the deal is D-Will + contracts for Pau.

Pau is good on defense! Much better fit alongside Love than Pek is. Plus we'd still have Pek as our super sub. I think you just like to hate on guys from Spain :silly:

Chris Haynes: I'm being told Minnesota is Nicolas Batum's preferred destination. They have a great shot at coming to terms on an agreement.

Which means because of our luck, Portland is more likely than ever to match :)
