I had a big fight with Jerry Zgoda on twitter about Shved just last night...He was talking about never been tested, what happens when he plays against NBA talent, how come more teams didn't want him, blah blah etc...I said listen, first of all, When I judge talent, I don't judge on the competition. When evaluating a combo guard like Shved, I evaluate his ball handling, his decision making, his ability to pass, shoot, get to the rack etc. It doesn't matter what competition he's playing against, if he can't do all of those things, he won't' be successful...I basically said look Jerry, I've seen the kid play, I've seen his skill set, and while initially he may struggle, he has the Game to translate to the NBA..Last night i was ridiculed, Today I look a little bit better
Why didn't more teams go after him? Who knows? Ginobili fell threw the cracks, Pekovic was a 2nd around pick. Sometimes, international players aren't evaluated as well as others. From what I've seen, the Kid has game and can play at any level. I mean for a large portion of the game, Deng was on him too
I saw that and thought it was pretty funny. Howl to you!
