The timberpup game will be back once again this year! For people who don't know what this is, it's a really awesome game we play here at TWB where you try and predict the score of t-wolves games. It's really easy, all you need to do is make a prediction in each game thread and do any game challenges and I will worry about tallying all the scoring. If you want to read the full rules, they can be found HERE (link not working

), although they will be a little outdated and it really isn't necessary to know all the rules.
Rules changes for this season:
-Being the closest to guessing the score is now worth 2 timberpups for 2-19 participating people, and 4 timberpups for 20+. Guessing a team score correctly is worth 4 timberpups. This means a perfect guess is now worth 20 timberpups, although this has still only ever happened 1 time, in the first season by CW
-The playoffs are receiving a complete overhaul. The top 8 players will still advance, but it is no longer head-to-head. All 8 players will compete against each other.
1. Each playoff round will be 2 games long, except the championship round will be 3 games.
2. Timberpups are not earned in the playoffs, instead it only matters how close you are to guessing the game scores. Whichever player has the highest(worst) score at the end of each round will be eliminated. If 2 players tie for the worst score, they will both advance to the next round and then there will be 2 elminiations in that round to compensate. Tiebreakers will be used in the semifinals to ensure that only 2 people make it to the finals.
3. Correctly guessing a team score is worth a 4 point bonus.
4. Each player will gain a bonus (or hindrance) according to their playoff seed as follows:
#1 seed: starts with -4 point advantage each round (except Finals)
#2: -3
#3: -2
#4: -1
#5: +1
#6: +2
#7: +3
#8: +4
In addition, the top 4 seeds will receive a 5 point home court advantage that can be used one time throughout the playoffs, except the #1 seed, which can use it twice. You have to state before a game starts if you want to use it, and it cannot be used during the Finals.
Last year during the playoffs, there was a bit of abuse of the spirit of the game. Basically instead of trying to guess the game score, people would just wait until their opponent did their guess, and then go off of that, making it very hard to lose. This year, if there is any continued abuse of the honor system or loopholes in the rules, you may be subjected to penalties and/or disqualification.
Important Dates
Nov 2 - Kings @ Wolves - 1st game of the season (why do we always play the Kings in the season opener?)
March 22 - Wolves @ Suns - off game, used for any regular season tiebreakers
March 24 - Bulls @ Wolves - playoffs start
As running this game is quite a lot of work for one person to do, it would be nice if anyone would be willing to help out at some point. Towards the middle/end of the season, I get burnt out a bit and it becomes harder to think of new, interesting game challenges.
If you have any suggestions on how to improve the game or questions, please leave them in this thread. Good luck to everyone!
Also to any mod/admin, you can unsticky the previous TP thread.
