I'm not so sure, if we should give away Chase. He was one of our best players in the first run und surely our most consistent 3pt-shooter (and he fits perfectly into Adelmans system...)

It hardly qualifies as "giving him away" when you are getting a much better player out of the trade  JJ Redick is a superior player to Budinger in every way and fits this team better being a pure scoring SG who can defend as opposed to SF/SG who plays spotty defense. Chase is missing most of the season due to injury and is a free agent, probably looking for a big pay day because he has been vastly underpaid his entire career up until this point. Redick is a "safe" player, there would be no risk in re-signing him, as long as the price is right. It's funny that you don't want to trade Chase because he is a consistent 3pt shooter, yet JJ is one of the best 3pt shooters in the entire league!

This is a really good trade for the Wolves. It's debatable on whether the Magic would even consider doing this trade. It depends entirely on how highly they think of D-Will.

That trade is excellent.

Derrick Williams is one of those players that looks worse in real life because then you can see what he does off the ball. stands there. His game is so uneventful 90% of the time.

I've noticed that watching games. He can go a long time without any involvement on offense. I may be off base on this, but I tend to notice him being a statue when JJ and Luke are dribbling the ball around and not passing to him. Still no excuse for him standing around. AK moves. Do JJ and Luke get him the ball when they are running the show?

I love getting BlueSchlong. Not so much Royce. Perhaps the most clinically insane player this league has seen since Marbury. Maybe being in Minnesota would help, but the guy may never play a second in this league. Nice upside to be sure but he seems to have no interest whatsoever in playing in the league. We know how well taking risks works out for our franchise. Done with risks. We'll end up signing him this summer when Houston cuts him anyways.

However, It could definitely be argued that GreenCock > D Will + Budinger alone. It is safer than risking losing Chase in free agency, and OrangeWeiner is dependable and good, and not hurt. Royce is a bonus then. So long as he isn't a centerpiece.

I'd rather try to get Patrick Patterson from Houston in that deal, but no way HOU does that as-is without more added. By the way, Patrick Patterson was rumored by Doogie to be on our radar about a month ago in D-Will trade options....

No, JJ and Luke don't give him the ball because he is just standing there. Like many people, his on-court IQ is just low. He may be brilliant off the court (who knows), but he doesn't know basketball.

If you're on an Adelman team and standing still on offense for long periods of time, you're doing it wrong.

If you're on an Adelman team and dribbling the ball for 20 seconds every possession then launching a contested 3 or off balance runner in traffic, you're also doing it wrong...

D-Will should be running that back cut like AK and working on finishing from the weak side. Also...post moves. His power game is not translating very well against the bigger compeition, which is exactly what many of you said when he was drafted.

Doogie chat recap. Lots of Wolves tidbits, but nothing alarmingly new: www.1500espn.com/sportswire/The_Scoops_L...t_1_pm_Tuesday012813

The Wolves think they can get more for him this summer. We heard that last year. He is totally getting salary dumped so we can sign Oden/Royce

Also, per the Royce discussion, a brand new interview. Haven't read it yet:

Let's start a "Derrick Williams trade value game" and the whoever is closest gets to start the next timberpup season with a 10 point t-pup head start.

My guess is that Derrick Williams is traded with Luke/JJ for a late first round pick and a player similar in skill to Jared Dudley/JJ Redick. We'll all be pissed at how low his value is and then we'll get over it, chalking it up to yet another Kahnfailure.

My guess is that he doesn't get traded at all and that CunningHAM is either traded or leaves in free agency after next season. It's exactly the ass backwards type of thinking I've come to expect from the Wolves.

Sooooo true.

:( :(
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I guess Boston kind of gets scewed in that deal... but Hollinger says they are the only team not losing in that trade...?

No way I'd do that trade. Granger isn't that good, he's probably not even as good as Rudy Gay, who just got traded for peanuts.

Granger is also paid like $12M less over the next two years, which gets you Avery Bradley and Courtney Lee. But sure, if we traded Love you really want a top notch player back.

People are still forgetting how good Love is when healthy. :pinch: . The fate of this season has done nothing but make the jaded mentality among the fanbase even worse. Hard not to understand why.

Re: D-Will. I see two scenarios.
1. If we move him at the deadline, we can actually get some good value for him. Daddy laughs at getting Dudley, but he would be a really solid fit for this team. I would consider it a good move. He is the type of guy who could come in and immediately average 15 PPG, hitting 3 3s a game in the process. Good shooting is contagious. I didn't realize Redick was an UFA so I don't consider that a wise move anymore.

2. Wait til this summer....I agree with Roundhouse. We won't trade him then or if we do it'll be in a salary dump/a fraction of the value. The fact that Kahn thinks his value will INCREASE with even more time is the dumbest logic I have heard this week. Trade him while you can. Trade him yesterday. "Big trades are tough to pull off." What a bullshit excuse obviously sent from Taylor who is obviously tightening the wallet again. Toronto just traded their aging PG and a young defensive big for Rudy Gay. We should have traded AK47 in a deal for Gay to think long-term. That would have been the savvy move a winning team would make.
