I'm not so sure, if we should give away Chase. He was one of our best players in the first run und surely our most consistent 3pt-shooter (and he fits perfectly into Adelmans system...)
It hardly qualifies as "giving him away" when you are getting a much better player out of the trade

JJ Redick is a superior player to Budinger in every way and fits this team better being a pure scoring SG who can defend as opposed to SF/SG who plays spotty defense. Chase is missing most of the season due to injury and is a free agent, probably looking for a big pay day because he has been vastly underpaid his entire career up until this point. Redick is a "safe" player, there would be no risk in re-signing him, as long as the price is right. It's funny that you don't want to trade Chase because he is a consistent 3pt shooter, yet JJ is one of the best 3pt shooters in the entire league!
This is a really good trade for the Wolves. It's debatable on whether the Magic would even consider doing this trade. It depends entirely on how highly they think of D-Will.
I love getting BlueSchlong. Not so much Royce. Perhaps the most clinically insane player this league has seen since Marbury. Maybe being in Minnesota would help, but the guy may never play a second in this league. Nice upside to be sure but he seems to have no interest whatsoever in playing in the league. We know how well taking risks works out for our franchise. Done with risks. We'll end up signing him this summer when Houston cuts him anyways.
However, It could definitely be argued that GreenCock > D Will + Budinger alone. It is safer than risking losing Chase in free agency, and OrangeWeiner is dependable and good, and not hurt. Royce is a bonus then. So long as he isn't a centerpiece.
I'd rather try to get Patrick Patterson from Houston in that deal, but no way HOU does that as-is without more added. By the way, Patrick Patterson was rumored by Doogie to be on our radar about a month ago in D-Will trade options....
