Do I count as a optimist?

I'd hope not. I think I am a realist.

Nice, me too.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Had to throw that in. I seen a little me in that article. I seen a little you in the pessimist article. No wonder why we have so much fun debating.

Yeah, no worries lol. ;)

Also, I agree about the debating. If we agreed on everything we wouldn't have too much to discuss.

Nice writing by Stephen, summing up a whole lot of arguements made by both sides in those two articles.

Asked for my opinion, I would consider myself neither optimistic nor pessimistic for the upcoming season, but only \"curious\". I believe that the Wolves will have trouble winning 30 games this year and will surely be awful if not unbearable to watch on some nights. But does this make me a pessimist? I don't think so, because on the other hand, I am pretty sure that these new look Wolves have a chance to beat almost every team in this league on a good night. They won't have many of those \"good nights\", but at least, it will make things exciting again, because you'll never know, what you'll about to see when you go to the stadium / turn on the TV. We have a special word for such teams here in Germany as we call 'em \"Wundertüte\", which refers to a bag of goodies of which you can't see what you bought until you open it...so everyone is eager to take a look. He might be delighted or disappointed with what he finds inside the bag, but the best thing about it, is the excitement (I guess there will be an English word for such bags, but I do not know or have forgotten it *g*).

I am just sad that I will experience this year of \"Wundertüte\" only while playing NBA Video Games instead of in reality...

Note @ CW: I have not forgotten about the article on German TV I promised. But it is difficult for me to even keep up with the actual posts and news in thei great forum, not mentioning writing this new stuff.

Don't worry about it... you don't have to write a dissertation or anything, I am just curious.

Btw, great take on the Wolves season and your \"fandom.\" I can agree with that.

P.S. I think we call a Wundertute a \"Grab Bag\" here. \"Wundertute\" is a way cooler word though. :)

Depends on your point of view, I guess :) . In Germany people tend to think using english loan words is pretty cool, but I know a lot of words that are used in America but are of German origin. I wonder if they were introduced by American GIs, coming home after WWII or if they were simply brought with by German emigrants...

I'm sure it is a combination of many factors, with what you said above being included. Plus, it's like that for pretty much every language here in America, not just German (eg: having words of other origin in our everyday language.)
