Sorry I didn't reply sooner guys. MockNBA league started from PASPN, and we were an active league. But we just got tired of how PASPN did stuff, so FrogmanV created a forum and everyone left PASPN. We basically use the forum/chat format to propose trades, and use ESPN to keep score.

What got me into this league is that each GM has to comply with a set of rules to keep the league alive. You could be kicked out if you haven't logged in for say 2 weeks. There are violations (for which I found out the hard way) for not setting weekly rosters. On the plus side (for me anyway) there are no agents, so basically the highest bidder gets the free agent.

It's also a smaller league with only 20 teams, which means it's easier to keep good GMs around.

We have programs to help assist with trades (numbers and calculations). And cheaters were also kicked out, we have ways of finding out

I also believe both teams are under the salary cap, so there's a bit of spending for free agency.

I'm intrigued by that LA team, I might take them. I already have a ton of stuff going on with fantasy sports though, so I dunno. Is it pretty time consuming? Also, is the setup better than the PASPN league was? Is it a lot easier and quicker to do lineups and whatnot?

Oo so it's actually an ESPN league, but you just talk about it in that forum or what? That would make a lot more sense to me if that's the case.

When does the offseason stuff like free agency, the draft, etc. start? The Magic team kinda sucks balls, but I'd maybe take it just because Roddy Beaubois is one of my new favorite players. It's funny how whoever built that team has an entire roster of forwards and like 3 guards, 2 of which are rookies. Lol.

Setup is definitely better than PASPN. All the rules are stated in forum, and a few GMs form a board in which we vote to pass new rules or to kick out a slack GM.

The lineup setting is via ESPN.COM, so it's way easier than PASPN. ESPN basically is what keeps the score. The wheeling and dealing is via forum based site much like this one. The only thing is you have to make sure that the salaries match when doing a deal or bidding for freeagents, FrogmanV the commissioner also checks to see that the deal is legit and fair.... otherwise we might suspect a cheater, like some dude try to do by setting up 2 accounts. Actually, there is now 2 co-commssioners keeping an eye on everything.

Hey, I was in PASPN with you guys, and boy that sucked - most of the time, GMs don't even answer your proposals. If that happens in MockNBA league, the slack GM will get a warning to check his emails and proposals etc.

What was cool was that because there was only 20 teams, we auctioned off the players from the defunct teams by bidding. That was heaps fun. I think it was just a one off.

We're awaiting lottery in May 20th. But for the moment, teams are declaring their TO/PO and in 2 weeks it's bidding for QO's.

You guys would both be excellent players, let me know if you're interested and I'll hook you up.

Personally, I would've taken the Lakers. But Magic is an intriguing team, with more cap space to play with. I'm responsible for banishing Jonny Flynn there

The following has occured in absence of GM for Lakers.

Amare (PO) Opts out (rule: Player on 15-20mil contract - Opts out if excedes 1750FBPTs on season). So, certainly you can resign him, you also have bird rights for Amare'; to resign you'd have to be the highest bidder in free agency (there's no agents in this league) and with bird rights you can sign him to a maximum which no one can beat. So I don't know if you really like Amare enough to bid according to this:

I assume Joe Johnson is still on contract, I'll have to check that with FrogmanV.

If you don't want Farmar, then I suppose once you assume control of Lakers then you can let FrogmanV know you don't want to match the QO of Farmar. Again, he's quite approachable so you can just let FrogmanV know what's on your mind. He said he was going to email you shortly.

Count me out on this. It's a cool idea, but I don't think I want to do something like this right now. I'm not a huge fantasy basketball guy anyways. Never really liked it that much.
