I watched Quantum of Solace again, in preparation for "Skyfall." It was actually waaaaay better than I had remembered seeing it in the theatres 4 years ago. It was infinitely better watching it directly after CR, as it's basically a continuation of that movie. While it's not as good overall as CR, it's still an above-average Bond movie. And I actually think Daniel Craig is a better portrayal of Bond than Connery, although it's very close. Plus big screen + Blu Ray + loud surround sound = awesomeness. This movie definitely delivered in the sound, special effects, and enjoyment facets.

I used to think Pierce Brosnan was awesome as Bond, but looking back, "Goldeneye" was really the only good Bond movie he made. It wasn't his fault, as he was a passable James Bond, but those other movies' scripts, plots, and editing were just ridiculous.

Connery is easily the best Bond. Daniel Craig comes in 2nd.

I think it's pretty darn close. I dunno about saying Connery is "easily" the best. It's a totally different era and type of movie(s) with Craig. They are both clearly the best though. Maybe it's more like 1A and 1B...
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Watched some movies lately....

Immortals is the business in Blu Ray with loudass surround sound. Hell and yes.

Margin Call was ok, but I've seen better. Great ensemble cast though. Worth your time if the topic interests you.

Saw Moneyball again. Still a good movie. Still worth your time if you care anything about sports.

I really wanted to like J. Edgar, but I just can't totally endorse it. Leo is a great actor and has made amazing leaps and bounds in his career; he's one of my top 5 actors, but this movie... just not that exciting. I mean, I'd watch it and all, but it's not a 'must see' by any means. And from what I've read, there are a lot of historical factual inaccuracies. I give it like a 6 out of 10 or so.

Yea J Edgar is pretty weak. I give it like 5/10. I can't believe a movie by Clint Eastwood with Leo starring could be so boring and mediocre.

Saw Skyfall. It's good, not quite as good as Casino Royale, but a lot better than Quantum of Solace. 7/10

I'm just so depressed about J. Edgar. Man, that should have been a great movie with the people involved making it.

I've heard Skyfall is pretty good to. Still need to see that.

I thought Skyfall was pretty dang sweet. Definitely one of the better Bond movies, and miles above Quantum of Solace. It's pretty clear that Daniel Craig and Sean Connery are EASILY the best two Bonds ever, and no one else is very close.

Good stuff... I give it at least an 8 out of 10.

Prometheus was better than I expected it to be after seeing so many negative reviews. It's pretty weird though. I hope they make more movies in the Aliens universe. 7/10

Yeah, I thought it was pretty solid too. The special effects and all that really rocked, especially in the theatre.

Saw some movies recently...

Went to Wreck-It Ralph with CW Jr. It was pretty decent I thought. Not my most favorite cartoon movie ever, but not bad by any means. Had some pretty funny moments and was well done overall. Can't really complain about anything here.

A blast from the past thanks to a random DVR'ing off HDNet Movies... Collateral Damage. It's good because it's an Ahnold mooovie, and he is one of the best actors EVER. I will seriously watch any/every movie I ever see with him in it. He's just awesome in every way.

And then also thanks to HDNet Movies, I watched Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, before it's even in the theatres (love HDNet Wednesday movie nights!)

But hooooly crap, this is a graphic movie. Like, extremely graphic in every conceivable way. Be forewarned. However, it's also easily the best "Universal Soldier" movie since the first one waaaaay back in '92, (although it's not as good as the original overall.) The rating for the first Universal Soldier is extremely (and unfairly) low imo... that's a really solid movie. This one isn't quite as good, because the first one rocks so hard. But it's not like this is direct to DVD junk either. I'd also rate it a lot higher than the 5.4 rating on IMDB as well. It did need more JCVD though.

What a travesty that the first Universal Soldier is only rated 5.8. It should be at least a 7.

Horribly disappointed in J Edgar. Just a bad script, period. I knew like 3 things about Hoover going in and I'm not sure I know anything more after watching 2 hours on him.

I am pissed I watched that movie. I'm even more pissed how much it sucked balls, considering the expectations and cast/director/etc.

Thanks to IMDB user comments, I had to go watch Universal Soldier: Regeneration, which is the one before this new one that just came out (Day of Reckoning.) I can't believe Regeneration was a Direct-to-Video movie! Because wow, it was really pretty sweet. I don't know that if overall it was as good as the new one, but it wasn't bad at all. There is a lot more of JCVD and Dolph Lundgren in this one, rather than compared to the newest. And Regeneration only had a $14 million budget, which is pretty insane to believe if you watch the movie. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, to be honest. These two US movies (and the original US) are woefully underrated on IMDB. I can't believe how low they are... I give the two new ones between like a 7 to 7.5, and the original an 8.

I don't remember too much about Regeneration, but I must have thought it was really terrible because I rated it 2/10
