Now I've had spotty service with a multitude of carriers, so I was willing to throw my lot in with them, and it really hasn't seemed any better or worse than anyone else.
When the new IPhone came out, to be honest I was underwhelmed. Now I can EDIT VIDEO on my PHONE? Oh boy, that'll come in handy never. Facetime? Yeah, it's cool I guess. The only things to excite me really were the better screen and folders.
But I bought one, and not because I'm some idiot drooling Apple fanboy. I bought it because I really like my IPhone, because I use it for instant messaging and games and texting way more than I use it as a phone and it does that splendidly.
All the ridiculous hype over Apple does the exact same thing ridiculous hype over any movie does: it makes the people who don't have it irritated from having to hear about it, and less likely to even want to consider it's merits.
Is the IPhone worth raving over? No, but it's a nice phone, and there are now finally other phones that are just about as good. I hope the people who watch that video and laugh realize that the percentage of people who are actually like that is extremely small. No one buys something they don't like just because everyone has it.
Good point.
I'd love to have the iPhone or Evo... I'm not gonna lie. But financially it doesn't work because of our multiple phone plan we currently have. Maybe someday, who knows. For now, I love my iTouch and use that for everything except making phone calls, so I don't really complain (or care about not having one.)
