I dunno yet... I might. I do like Common, but I've got my fair share of CD's lately. I haven't read any reviews, what are they saying about it? Any idea?
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I got the CD yesterday at Best Buy on sale for $10. So far I like it, it's a lot different than his other CD's though. 4/5 stars

Thanks. I might get it. At the least I'll probably end up downloading a bunch of it... (Gasp!)

Glad to see you mention Brother Ali, CW. He is the TRUTH! By far my favorite mc...and he's outta Minneapolis. I pretty much like anything except country and bubble gum pop (like brittany spears, shit you see on Mtv). I'm really into underground hip hop.

Atmosphere
Brother Ali
Aesop Rock
Killer Mike
El-P
Lupe
Kid Cudi
Kanye
Common
Weezy

But I also like Rage Against the Machine and Radiohead a lot too.

Hey Slim - No worries man, you can talk all the music you want in this thread!

And I agree with you both, Brother Ali and Atmosphere are both awesome! Too bad they don't get more fame/attention, because they definitely deserve it. So much better than the pop "rap" on the radio these days...

Friends that have studied abroad in Australia told me that Atmosphere is huge over there and they play his music in the clubs all the time.

Maybe AusWolf would know if that's true.

Nice to see the Brother Ali & Fleet Foxes references here!

Huge fan of Vampire Weekend, has a great Ska/Pop/world beat sound, very cool. Still listen to Guided By Voices quite a bit, this is my favorite youtube clip of all time, 2 minutes of pure bliss:

Also the Dropkick Murphys. Makes you want to slam a Guinness and throw punches. Then you remember you're 38 with a mortgage so you go out to check the mail to see what Netflix brought you. Good to know your limitations (however few they are:laugh:)

I'm not gonna lie, I am really liking the new Eminem cd. Anyone else?

It gets back to his awesome raps and rhymes, rather than some of the "pop" rap that he has made in the past.

Good stuff, imo.

Overall I like Relapse. I hate songs like "We Made You" and "Crack A Bottle," he just writes those to market to the stupid people. It's so annoying when he goes into his "wierd al yankovic" voice and makes pop culture references that are easily 4 or 5 years old.....just plain garbage.

Other songs on the album like "3am" and "Insane" are good as far as flow and beats go, but I just think that he's trying way too hard to convince us that he's crazy or hard. On "Insane" he talks very lightly almost in a humorous way of how he was molested by his stepfather as a child. A bit or a case of too much information.

However, the last half of the album is pretty damn good. I think the best songs are "Deja Vu" and "Beautiful." On these tracks he loses the phony sarcastic voice and actually has some pretty deep/meaningful lyrics. My favorite track is Deja Vu...I wish Em would make most of his album like this rather than just a couple songs. Deja Vu really tackles the subject of his addiction and when his friend proof was murdered. ---

Wouldn't even be takin' this shit if DeShaun didn't die
Oh yeah, there's an excuse you lose Proof so you use
There's new rules, it cool if it's helpin' you to get through
It's twelve noon, ain't no harm in self-inducin' a snooze
What else is new? Fuck it what would Elvis do in your shoes?

I'd give the album an 8 out of 10. This is way better than his lat album, Encore, but I just wish he didn't dilute his stuff with the handful of garbage tracks like "we made you."
