I think the show would be dramatically better if you knew it was going to be one case for one season. Hard not to be intrigued by such a formula, sort of like Dexter. And besides, an hour spent with Holder/Pecherov is time well spent usually.

Safe to assume that AMC brought it back because they couldn't develop anything better in the mean time. Likely tied to the fact that all their money is tied up with Mad Men until that series ends (even to the point of cutting the Breaking Bad budget).

I'll give it a chance but it'll be on a very tight leash.

p.s. watching latest season of Dexter that is on DVD. So far a major drop off from previous ones. It really feels like a mailed in season.

True, Holder is a huuuuuge STUD, but that's about all the show has going for it.
