Just wanted to say this, 2K13 came out, I started the Assossiation, simulated the whole season, BAM - The Wolves finish 3rd in the west :woohoo:

It was something along the lines of Lakers, Thunder, WOLVES, Spurs, Clippers, Golden State, Nuggets (I think). Anyway, they lost the second round against the Lakers (4-2), but still, daaamn  :side:

How is the game this year? Did they make any improvements?

A LOT BETTER...I mean just as a Wolves fan alone, the game is a must by because you can actually play with them and do well. Love is amazing and he isn't Bald and fat anymore. Rubio actually has his trademark beard. The controls for dribbling are a lot better too. Rebounding has been upgraded so you can really snag those offensive boards like Pek and Love do in real life. The only complaint I have about the game is the same complaint I've had for years and that's it is nearly impossible to play one on one defense on the perimeter. Guys go by you like nothing. But beyond that, I absolutely love the game

I got it the other day but haven't had too much time to play. I mean, the players have updated looks, the control improvements are there, they added some more classic teams, and added some new myplayer features.

But unless you get deep into those categories (admittedly, I am a dribble and shoot guy and play association from time to time so I probably dont appreciate the changes) you will probably feel the same way about any NBA2k game the past few years: simply the same game as last year with minor enhancements. I hear what you are saying Murphs...the gameplay improvements are obvious...but things of that nature have always felt like 'minor tweaks' to me. I'm sick of the graphic style of that series. It has been the same since 2008. You could probably look at a screenshot from the game from each of the past 5 years and not be able to tell any difference.

Got it today. Looks solid. The only problem is that only one person can play my player or I haven't figured it out. My brother and I both want to play it on the same pc.

Well, mostly gameplay tweaks.

The right stick is now a dribble stick instead of shot stick, so when you wiggle it around it makes crossovers and stuff. When you hold the left trigger, it becomes a shot stick (like it was last year).

Many other controls are changed this year. For instance, when you press X + A it throws an alley-oop wherever you point with the left stick. And you can throw some to yourself :woohoo: Also, there is a bounce pass combination (never had manual bounce passes before).

Big men can no longer keep up with guards when those guards are running. Guards can no longer keep big men in check down low.

For me something worth noting is the sim control. In association, you can tell the coach where to focus when you simulate games. For instance, you can select the first scoring option (Love), second scoring option, what defense do you mostly prefer the team to run, what shots should the team look for (3 point, mid range, low post, dunks) and stuff like that. It really helps when you just want to be a manager and not play games.

For me, the game improved from 2K12 to 2K13 more than from 2K11 to 2K12.

I also love the Pick plays where you are given the option to roll or pop. Before it was kind of confusing what the Person setting the pick would do but now it is much more clear

The gameplay improvements sound nice, but it looks like they neglected Association mode again? That was my biggest problem with last year's game. The rotations/minutes are all messed up in simulated games. Starters play 35+ min per game no matter what. Like if your starting center is rated 70 and your backup is rated 69, the starting center will still play 35+ min which is really dumb.

Also the player progression is messed up too. Player's ratings go up way too high. It's insulting seeing Johnny Flynn with an 80 rating lol.

Teams make really stupid trades that mess up their rosters and free agency is broken too. Then during the draft the AI-controlled teams keep fake 2nd round players that have like 50 rating on their roster :S

I don't play online, and the only other mode I like to play is MyPlayer, so I guess until they work on Association I probably won't get this game.
