TOPIC: A message to all clairvoyants: You don't know!

A message to all clairvoyants: You don't know! 5 years 2 weeks ago #14124

YOU ARE NOT PSYCHIC! YOU ARE NOT A CLAIRVOYANT! YOU DON'T KNOW THE FUTURE! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ENOUGH TO GET HIRED BY A SECOND RATE FRONT OFFICE! Yet you are still spouting off all this nonsense about what the team should do and how things WILL be.

Background: I've been slumming the past month looking for tidbits about my Twolves on the net. I've scrounged about everywhere and can only find scant bits of CREDIBLE information about the team's current direction. Unfortunately, I have been able to find a plethora of pundit articles discussing what the Twolves WILL be doing over the next few months. Take this jerk Souhan or whatever his name is. He posts something about trading McCants and the # 3 pick away..... WTF???? McCants is the best Offensive option on the team and this jerk says trade him away? McCants has started to move to a 'Gilbert Arenas' style of play and we should just trade that away? After reading some of this type of stuff one generally gets a little frustrated. Reading article after article (if you can call it that) of wild speculation being pushed off as FACT or educated opinion really gets under the skin after a while. It gets me to the point where I am pissed enough to post my own little rant. This jerk Souhan has not watched the Twolves, obviously. If he did, he doesn't understand the game too well. The Twolves are a great team with a great future, as is. I really don't think they need anything other than a first rate coach to make the playoffs next year. The talent is there. No doubt! Now they have one year of team-experience and 'battle testing' to go with that talent. Trading that experience away (for something unproven, untested) is the stupidest idea I've heard. Their record over last year was the result of poor coaching decisions, rookie mistakes, and lack of confidence alone. Nothing more. All of that started to turn around at the end. There were even moments when the silver lining was apparent during last season (remember the games against the Celtics, the Spurs, the Suns). So to all you supposed clairvoyants, realize... you don't know anything about anything. You are just like me, outside looking in. Let the professions handle their business. Even if the Twolve's front office is second rate, they are a helluva lot better at their job than any pundit would be. So shut up with all that nonsense you spouting off!

As for the \"message to all clairvoyants\"... I agree with you to some extent on media people. A lot of them truly don't know their head from their ass, and just write garbage and speculate. It does get really tiring at times. If you were referring to anyone in the forums (which I don't think you were), then that's really not fair as none of us get paid. Messageboards are a completely different animal than a paid position in local or national media. But yeah, you do have some valid points.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

hmmm... I assumed he was going at all of us on the forum. Upon reread maybe not so much. If he is talking about media types who write and commentate on sports/teams they don't watch I'm on board. I'd like to know how many KG can't win the big one articles were written based off looking at the box score.

That is why Brit is so great. It is amazing to read someone write based on game analysis. There is a such a void of legitimate game break downs in the media.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I like it here. I was referring to the media. Everybody here is a fan. We all speculate... thats what fans do. But reporters are supposed to be doing us fans a service by reporting facts or at least credible opinions. I only see the media blasting the team and suggesting idiotic stuff. Makes me wonder if there are any reliable sources for the Twolve fans, other than the current site of course. :)
