- Their single game tix pricing is really weird there. Essentially everything in the 3rd level is $40, everything in the mid-level is $90, and everything in the lower bowl is $130 (plus like $11 convenience charges). I had been watching it all of last week trying to decide which route to take....well on Friday afternoon, a seat in row A opened up in the lower level! I had to take it. It was by far the most I've ever paid for a tix, but it was also definitely the best seat I have EVER had at an NBA game. It was right behind the basket by the C's bench, after 2 rows of press.
- The Bulls cheerleaders get a B-. About half of them resemble Celtics cheerleaders (B+'s to A's), while about half of them resemble Wolves cheerleaders (D- to B-).
- The Bulls fans love Nocioni for some reason, and lovingly refer to him as \"Noch\".
- They were really hating on Posey...they have not forgotten his hard fouls on them from the Heat years..
- I was disappointed to not really see any celebs there. A few Cubs & Blackhawks were around, but I only knew that cuz they got interviewed on TV (the Bulls TV feed was on press row right in front of me).
- The place was sold out, and was at capacity when the game started. No late arriving crowds in Chicago apparantely (the 7:30 start time probably helped).
- I think Leon Powe is a really solid & underrated defender.
- KG & Ty Thomas both had sick alley-oops right in front of me. In the 2nd half K. Perkins also had an awesome block on a Ty Thomas dunk attempt, only to get called for a bogus foul.
- Benny the Bull is way cool...and a helluva dancer.
- MMaland was right about the cartoon races. They dominate many of the breaks. Unforunately, I never won squat.
- The actual game was so-so. PGA played well, and with great efficiency. Basically the C's led by 5-15 points the whole game. Considering it was a sold out crowd of 20,000+, the fans were pretty quiet I guess. Although they really didn't have much to cheer about.
- Aaron \"Freight Train\" Grey is one of the biggest dudes I have ever seen in my life. Big Baby Davis is also just massive, but about 6 inches shorter.
- Rondo completed his cup-the-ball & fake a behind-the-back pass layup, which was tight.
- KG was so infuriated when the 2 tshirts landed at he & Posey's feet, glaring at, yelling at, & pointing at Benny. I was slightly embarassed.
- There were quite a few green jerseys in the audience. More Bulls wear, but still quite a bit of C's wear.
- After the game I noticed the below-the-ground, fenced in parking lot wear the Bulls players all park. Since I was alone & just going back to my hotel room & on the phone anyway, I stuck around & watched the players walk out to their cars. Ty Thomas drives a pimped out pickup, which I found odd. Many of the guys had drivers, including JoNoah, Nocioni, & Larry Hughes. Speaking of JoNo, he was the only player to exit with women (except for Hinrich who left with his wife, and then proceeded to drive away in a Yukon while his wife cruised off in a much nicer vehicle), and he had 2 with him.
Wow, that was a lot of typing, and it really wasnt even that interesting. My apologies for a somewhat boring, and rather lenghty recap...
I found it to be kinda interesting for being a \"short\" recap. I like the insider type stuff like this.
Have a Howl for the recap and for the fact that you have gotten to see the Celtics play live 3 times now this year!
