He brings up a lot of good points about Doc, and other things...

I didn't think it was funny at all. I think he tried too hard or something. He had valid points, it just wasn't very funny to me.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I'm with you. I didn't enjoy that post at all. I enjoyed the terrible GM summit that he did, but the handful of posts of this ilk he's done since haven't been good.

I can see why he tries to change up his style because he has so many columns... but I don't usually enjoy them.

Simmons is losing it slowly , and it's too bad because he used to get me through those days in law school where I needed a good 10 minute break to get my focus back. Ever since all of the Boston teams started doing well, he's all about gushing over them instead of the stuff he used to do, which was covering everything and mixing in pop culture. That 2,000 word, written fellation of Rajon Rondo was ridiculous and boring. It was almost as unbearable as the \"Patriots are the 86 Celtics\" article or the curious guy he did with Curt Schilling.

When he's on, he's still on, but in the past he used to never be off and now he's starting to be off on a regular basis. Check his archives, I recommend the Black SUper Bowl (the NBA all-star game in Houston where Jordan's wife turn into the wet blanket).

Completely agreed... I've been thinking that for a while now. He's still worth reading, just not near as funny as he used to be. His best stuff nowadays are his mailbags or the live chats, mostly because of how funny the people are that ask him questions.

His best takes are now in his pod casts. His writing has suffered from content perspective.

I think the fundamental issue is that he is now too big and has too much access. When he was just a guy in Boston loving sports it all worked better. On top of that life in California is too good. Very few sports writers make a good transition from small time to big time without losing a part of what made them connect with their writers in the process.

You absolutely nailed this. Its just the natural evolution... everyone had to know he'd drop off eventually.

I do enjoy the podcasts though too.

This was hilarious. I thought it was closer to the truth than not.

This quote made me laugh out loud because it's probably true.

\"GARNETT: Doc, you didn't notice that we play totally different when we're up 20 than when we're up one? I can't speak for the other guys, but I have so much adrenaline going in close games that I practically black out. In fact, I can't even remember what happened in the last few minutes of Game 4 against Atlanta. I remember someone called a timeout, and the next thing I knew I was on the plane eating peanuts.\"
