Help: Celtics \"Big 3\" needs an official nickname 5 years 7 months ago #1777

Doc said he doesn't like the \"Big 3\" because it should be reserved for Bird, Parish, and McHale. Granted, most people don't really care what Doc says... but he does have a point:
\"Honestly, I don't like that,\" Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said at the team's media day on Friday. \"Because [Kevin] McHale, [Robert] Parish and [Larry] Bird were 'The Big Three.' So come up with another one.\" The chaps at Celticsblog have been trying to figure out a nickname: http://www.celticsblog.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1395&Itemid=189 Maybe we can help them out? Thoughts anyone? Personally, I do like these two: \"Three C's Mafia\" \"RPG\" \"RPG\" because Garnett, Pierce, and Allen are definitely going to be blowing people up this season.  |

Hmmm, difficult question. I have never been that creative when it comes to thinking up names (which is a problem when you are a p&p gamemaster).
Has someone yet thought of the obvious \"Trinity\" or \"Trident\"? Not very catchy, I guess. We in Germany often use the common, Italian based phrase of \"Trio infernale\" for such constellations. Around here, it is neither new nor unique, but maybe it could work in the U.S. - at least I have never heard this phrase being used over there. But has Boston a strong Italian Community? It better be something with an Irish touch... What about \"DR1\"? That is the type of most famous triplane ever. But maybe too German and too complicated... Oh well, when I really think of somehing not-embarrassing, I'll post it here. I only hope that KG, Pierce and Allen will stay healthy over the season, or they will quickly be named \"the three muscle tears\"  ! |

The \"Three Musketeers\" would be a dumb nickname, but yours however, is quite clever. Hopefully they don't actually get injured though to deserve that nickname.  |
