Well, it looks to be a done deal. Rasheed is a Celtic. I couldn't be happier. Sheed has to be in "Shaq" mode though to come into the season more motivated and in better shape than last year. Against starting bigs he is still above average defensively and average on offense. Against 2nd squads I imagine he's going to be very good and very motivated. This spells trouble for Shaq and Lebriggity...:P
Defenders will be hard pressed to slack against Sheed and KG. Perk makes it so neither of them have to do much banging against the Shaq and D12's.

Also in the air is the rumor that Grant Hill is going to Boston and that BBD is going to the Spurs. Hmmm. not so worried about them losing BBD. He was a factor of Van Gundy and Del Negro giving him no respect. I actually think he hurt the Celtics at times because his defender roamed so much and doubled so hard on the screens. He'll work well in San Antonio if it's the truth. he's an alright player, hope he does well.

If Grant Hill is with the Celtics, they are officially the oldest team ever in the history of the league. Grant Hill was actually pretty impressive last year, especially given the fact that he was asked to do too much on that team. he won't be asked to do much with the Celtics. I hope he really is signing with them.

Not even going to comment on the Powe situation. Seems like bad karma move...Not a fan.

I don't think Sheed to the Celtics is a *great* move, but overall I think it's good for them.

Grant Hill would be a great pickup, on the other hand. They need someone like him and he'd (presumably) be cheap to sign.

BBD is no loss at all, especially since they got Sheed.

Sucks they didn't resign Powe, they almost should have just because of what he's done for them and how far he's come. But I understand its a business, it's just too bad for Powe. That man can't catch a break. Here's to hoping he signs with another team and has a solid, injury-free rest of his career. I really like Leon.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I'm not gonna lie, I'm relatively stoked that Sheed is a Celtic! Unlike The DaDDy, I have never been a Sheed guy, but to have Mr. Wallace coming off the bench for 25-32 minutes a game, are you kidding me?! Yes, please!

I gotta give big props to the Celtics organization for the way they did this. Doc, Wyc, Danny, KG, Paul, and Ray ALL traveled to Sheed's pad in Michigan to talk to him about this!?! So he then told his agent to cancel his meetings with the Spurs, Mavs, and ___(can't remember). How many teams would do that? How many teams' big 3 would take time out of their summers to travel to dudes' house to recruit him? I absolutely love it. I am excited for the Celtics 09-10 campaign. Way excited.

I think they need to give Bill Walker some burn this year. I believe in that kid bigtime. I could go either way with the Grant Hill rumor. Although Big Baby did a very admirable job in the playoffs last year, I won't blame them if they do not overpay for him and let him go. The Powe thing bothers me. I would love to see him as their 4th big guy off the bench for cheap. I really hope he latches on somewhere. It seems like the guy is perennially underrated, and can contribute a lot more than most give him credit for.

BBD and Powe provided the only real low post scoring. KG and Sheed don't bang much. Perk isn't a go to scorer down low(although he's getting better). Powe and BBD provide low post scoring. They need to re-sign Powe and let go of Pruitt.

Rondo
Allen
Pierce
Sheed
KG

If they add a few more players to the bench they'll walk to a championship if everyone stays healthy. Yea I know a big if.

Sheed is Dwight Howard's kryptonite.

Ray Allen and Pierce as the go to scorers in crunch time with KG, Rondo, and Sheed getting theirs whenever they feel the need or see the opportunity. Unstoppable.

It seems as though Sheed will actually be the sixth man. Perk fits better as the starter with three scorers and a distributor already on the court. As the sixth man Sheed will be the 2nd option with the 2nd unit I imagine. Ray or Pierce usually stay with the 2nd unit making them first option.
