So, I always take these stats with a grain of salt, as the confounds are too much to ignore. Still, he always rates so high on these metrics, it is crazy. When I watch a game I am watching an entirely different sport than most of my friends. The things players like KG, Avery Bradley, HAM (sometimes), Marc Gasol, Ricard, Dwight "El Nino" Howard, Duncan (sometimes), Tony Allen, etc. do fascinate me so much more than things Lebron does. Lebron's work is largely a function of sheer Allah-given talent (see what I did there, I find that creative). These players like KG are meticulously studying the floor and operating at such a high cognitive level with a pay off that is really very small in absolute terms, say 8-12 points a game. But stopping the opposition from scoring 10 points a game is amazing (to me).
Anyway, a good article. I can't believe Duncan is still that good of a defender. He never leaves the paint he is so slow. He controls that area though, so given their system perhaps he is still a crazy force.
