Also everyone says KG shouldn't win it because the players around him are so valuable to the team as well. That same theory should apply to Kobe, he wasn't even on the MVP radar before the Gasol trade. Then when Pau got hurt, the Lakers slipped back into mediocrity. Therefore, their MVP award should go to Pau, right?

That is revisionist Kobe history...People thought Bynum and Kobe were a great 1-2 punch and Gasol added was just shall we say insurance...There is not a player in the league in the last 10 years that can take over a game like Kobe...King James is a close second...
It seems that people don't like winners...they hate Kobe...they hate the Spurs...think all they do is whine and flop...but all the history books will show Kobe winning rings and scoring titles not too mention the following courtesy of:
