Yes, by posting his achievements you've shown exactly why he shouldn't win it this year. If you look at this year and this year alone, CP3 is way more deserving.

Based upon what??? What is your criteria for MVP??? Please clarify...

CP3 is winning AND has the statistics. His team has the best record in the West and he's having one of the greatest statistical seasons by a point guard, ever.

Kobe is winning...and has won and will continue to win...and still has a chance to win the Western Conference...so based upon if the Laker's win the Western Conference Kobe wins the MVP...

So the criteria for you is that your team has to have the best record??? Well let's look at the numbers:

Kobe is averaging 28.6 ppg 6.4 rpg 5.4 apg
Paul is averaging 21.5 ppg 4.0 rpg 11.5 apg

The Lakers are 1 1/2 games out of first place in the west with 5 games left including one against the Hornets...

Kobe is double teamed and will always draw the best defender from every team...teams scheme \"How can we stop Kobe Bryant\" Not too mention Kobe getting to the Free Throw line each and every night...

Paul is a PG so he naturally will not always draw the best defender each night...plus having West and Chandler down low running alley oops and fade aways bloat Paul's numbers on the assist...

When people look back at this generation of players much like the 80's /90's they say was Jordan's era...they will look at the late 90's to the mid 2000's and the first name that many people will remember is Kobe Bryant...

I never said winning the West = MVP. However, winning is obviously something taken into consideration by the voters.

Kobe is having a pretty good season on a loaded team.

CP3 is having one of the best seasons by a PG (EVER!!!) on a team that is not as talented overall as the Lakers.

It boggles my mind that you are still making the argument that Kobe should win this year based on what he's done in the past. I'm done with this topic.

With all due respect maybe yours and others judgement is being clouded possibly by the past antics of Kobe on and off the court thus denying Kobe the MVP this year and past years...

And you did make it seem clear that MVP = winning the west a couple of posts back when you said,

\"CP3 is winning AND has the statistics. His team has the best record in the West and he's having one of the greatest statistical seasons by a point guard, ever.\"

No, that's you jumping to conclusions. I merely pointed out that his team A. Wins and B. He's got the statistics to back it up.

I understand what you are saying CW, but you are phrasing in a manner that makes it seem like it depends on wins. The better way to put it is that both teams are winning games but CP3 seems to have statistics that stand out more than Kobe's.

With that being said, I think CP3 should definitely get it over Kobe based on statistics alone because of the fact that CP3 is distributing and scoring. But, the MVP is more about the way the player plays the game and helps their team to victory along with stats rather than just statistics. I think Kobe has it there based on the fact that he can take over games basically whenever he wants and holds the fate of the game in his hands regardless of who else is on the team.

Honestly, CW, if you are going to consider Kobe as being on a stacked team, then KG should not even be mentioned in the MVP voting.

I do acknowledge that. In fact, it was almost exactly what I said in the 10th edition of the Blogger MVP Rankings that came out yesterday.

As for winning contributing to the MVP award, its pretty obvious that's something that affects that national panel of voters. Prime examples are the two that Nash won and Dirk last season.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

From FreeDarko:

\"Why bother with shit like how well they actually played during the season when you have data like \"rebounding is about desire. Kobe wants it more, so he's a better rebounder than LeBron\" at your fingertips? Kobe is becoming the NBA's answer to Juno for me-I really like him, but his supporters are so overwhelmingly fawning, pretentious, and obnoxious that I have begun to loathe his very concept.\"

Although I never saw Juno, I can imagine because this is exactly how I feel about Kobe and his supporters down to the very last word. Good stuff from them over at freedarko.

Who are these \"prententious, overwhelming Kobe supporters\"??? ESPN, National Media??? They fawn over all the stars...Kobe's play on the court may cause the reaction people have...

If you look at the numbers and the success of the team Kobe answers the bell each and every night...

I am guessing here but I bet you got tired of Jordan and his fawning fans as well
