Am I missing something here? Joe Smith is supposed to average 18 pts a game? I was thinking 10-12, but 18!!??! WHAT? He hasn't done that for 10 yrs.

Indeed an upgrade from PJ and Sweetney though...

WHOA. That is mindblowing.

I gotta think that's a typo?!?!? You should email the dude. Wow. If he truly meant 18 ppg in the paint, he's delusional!!!
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I do not understand that expectation, either. Given the fact that he was brough in basically to replace P.J. Brown, I believe it is not too risky to believe he will not play a significantly higher amount of minutes as Brown did, especially considering he is a 32 and the Bulls might want to give some PT to Noah as well.

Given that Smith's overall season averages in minutes are very close to that expected number of 25-28 mins. per night (P.J. played only 20 last season)in which he averaged nearly 12 ppg, it is difficult to see where those 18 points are supposed to come from, especially with a lot of other scoring options around.

I totally agree with daddy, that Smith is a smart signing, but even with minute-averages in or very close to the thirties with Milwaukee, he produced only 11 ppg. in a similar situation as with the bulls (and he was a few years young back then).

I'm with you Sanyarin, I would expect Smitht to PLAY 18 MINUTES per game, not score 18 points. I'd be happy if he averaged that over the 82 game season, given his history...
