Just a little year long event that I've been asked to take part in, along with a few other esteemed NBA Bloggers. Check out my intro article or head over to BrewHoop for the first edition of the rankings:

My Introductory Article
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Here was my initial voting if anyone is interested.

NOTE: First place vote is the highest number (aka 10 for MVP and 5 for ROY)

MVP

10 – KG: Despite snapping his consecutive double digit scoring streak, he’s still the best player on the team with the best record in the league.
9 – Lebron: Hard to put him at number two with the Oscar Robinson-esque statistics that he’s putting up across the board.
8 – Dwight Howard: Putting up sick numbers on one of the most improbable division leading teams of the early season. Oh, and he’s leading the league in rebounds per game and Double-Doubles.
7 – Carlos Boozer: Top 3 in ppg, as well as top 10 in rpg. He’s getting better each season.
6 – Steve Nash: His scoring and field goal shooting has been up this season, however his assists are slightly down. He’s still the best point guard in the league when healthy.
5 - Chris Paul: He’s the engine that makes this team go, and one of the best young pg’s in the league. It’s hard to argue with almost 19 ppg and 10 apg.
4- Kobe Bryant: One of the top offensive players in the league, if not the best. Averaging almost 28 ppg, second best in the league. Also, his supporting cast is less than stellar.
3- Tracy McGrady: I’ve always felt that he doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves. He fills up the stat sheet every night. Not too many players can average 25 ppg, along with 5 rpg, and 5 apg night in and night out.
2- Baron Davis: 25 ppg and almost 9 apg? Without him that Golden State offense would sputter.
1- Tony Parker: The point guard for the team with the second best record in the league. He’s picked up his scoring (20 ppg) while still distributing the rock to his teammates (7 apg.).

ROY

5 – Kevin Durant: Despite an occasional “clunker” of a game, he has the ability to go out and put up 35 points in each and every game he plays… much like he did Friday night.
4 – Al Horford: It’s only 15 games into his rookie season and he’s already averaging nearly a Double-Double per game. (8.7 ppg and 10.2 rpg.)
3 – Jamario Moon: He’s logging nearly 30 minutes per game… and producing to the tune of 8.5 ppg, and nearly 7 rpg.
2 – Jeff Green: He’s playing well and will be a versatile sidekick of Durant’s for many years to come.
1 – Yi Jianlian: He had a rough week, otherwise he could find himself possibly as high as 3rd. Still, he looks a lot better than he did in summer league and is averaging nearly 10 points and 6 rebounds per game.

Any thoughts? How would you vote?
