One instance of a tanking in a game that affected the league and the NFL is coming up with novel solutions. The Vikings don't get the ball in OT in the NFC Championship and the league is discussing changing OT rules.
If Roger Goodell was running the NBA like he runs the NFL the integrity of the league wouldn't be in question. I can't tell you how often I hear... "whatever it is all rigged anyways" from casual sports fans about both playoff refereeing and the lottery. That is some weak sauce David Stern.
It is rigged!
The "tanking" in football doesn't bother me one bit. It's not like they're trying to lose, they're just not playing their best players. If you get to that point of the season and have your playoff seed all wrapped up, you deserve to be able to rest your best players.
With that said, I think the change is good anyways. All division games in Week 17 should help a little and doesn't seem to have any negatives.
