The blog post isn't up yet, but look for it soon (Probably sometime on Monday.) It is being hosted by the first Italian 76er's Blog,
Sixers 4 Guidos. Don't ask me what it means because I don't know.
Anyhow, here are my votes and comments this time around:
MVP: (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points, and so on)
10 – Kevin Garnett: The Celtics are off to their best start in franchise history, and would not be in this position without KG. Sure, his stats are down, but last time I checked winning games was more valuable than individual statistics
9 – Lebron: The dart for second place landed on Lebron this week.
8 – Dwight Howard: Having one of the best seasons in recent memory for a big man. The scariest thing? He’s only 22 years old and could easily be doing this for another 10+ years.
7 - Chris Paul: Just because he’s small doesn’t mean his impact on the court is. He’s averaging 23 points and 12 assists per game since the last edition of the Blogger Rankings. And it’s not as if he’s putting up stats on a bad team (ahem D-Wade ahem.)
6 – Kobe Bryant: One of the hottest teams in the league, the Lakers won 9 out of their last ten. I have no explanation for the Lakers winning so much this season other than Kobe Bryant is really, really good.
5 – Allen Iverson: The Nuggets are 7-3 in their last ten games, and AI has been on a tear averaging 30.6 points and only 1.2 turnovers since the last edition of the Blogger Rankings. I think most people hate him, but I wish he was on the Wolves. Good thing we refused to trade Randy Foye for him last season when AI was being shopped around. That was sarcasm, by the way.
4 – Baron Davis: I feel obligated to put another Western Conference point guard on this last because there are so damn many good ones. Nash would probably get this spot under normal circumstances, but his play has been down and he missed a few games recently. Baron Davis called me and said that if I didn’t put him in my rankings for this edition he would personally hunt me down. I believed him.
3 – Carlos Boozer: Fifth in the league in Double-Doubles and one of the more versatile posts in the Western Conference. He’s integral to the success of the Utah Jazz. He and Deron Williams took the torch from Stockton and Malone, and will be a great foundation for the Jazz franchise for years to come. If you still aren’t sold on him, he’s averaging over 23 points and 10 rebounds per game this season… hardly a slouch.
2 – Chris Kaman: Someone’s gotta stick up for the Caveman. I expect him to be sending me a thank you letter soon.
1 – Al Jefferson: One of only two guys averaging 20+ points and 12+ rebounds per game. He’s also second in the league in Double-Doubles. His new nickname is “Old Skool.” I love him. I want to adopt him. It doesn’t matter how stupid this comment is because there is no hope of Old Skool getting enough votes to be on the final list, thus no one will ever see this comment.
ROY: (1st place = 5 points, 2nd place = 4 points, and so on)
5 – Kevin Durant: Putting anyone else other than Durant in this position is a big, fat lie. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I did.
4 – Yi Jianlian: He hit a stretch during the past two weeks were his points were down, but his rebounding numbers have still been very impressive. He was the Eastern Conference “Rookie of the Month” in December. I can’t argue with people that know more than I do.
3 – Jamario Moon: The moon is rising in Toronto. He’s averaging 11 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 39 minutes per game since the last edition of the Rankings.
2 – Al Horford: He saved his spot in the rankings with his last two games, after a down period. He dropped 9 points and 17 rebounds per game over his last two contests. I still think they should try him at point guard. It couldn’t hurt.
1 – Al Thornton: Barely edges Luis Scola for the final spot… mostly because he’s on my fantasy team.
