Anyone else caught completely off guard by the Celtics? Wow. I'll have to go to Celtics Blog some more to figure out what they are up to.

I don't know what to think about all that. I hope it works out for them though.

I'm very sad to see Perkins leave (although I'm glad he's now on my third favorite team that desperately needed someone like him!)

Perk was a prototype Celtic. He is a throwback Center that doesn't take shit from anyone. He's definitely my kind of guy. Did you guys see that he cried when he found out he was traded? Man, that sucks. The Celtics definitely lost some of their defensive identity, intimidation, and toughness today. Again, I hope it works out. I'm glad he's on the Thunder though instead of any other non-Wolves team.

I guess they'll try to sign Troy Murphy? Wasn't Erden playing decently well for them though? And he's young, and on a rookie deal. Strange.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Pretty sure the Celtics are going to make a killing on upcoming buyouts, unless GM's figure it out and screw the Celtics by not buying out players like Murphy and Ganzuric.

Sleeper Trade in my opinion: D.J White.

I guess so on the buyouts...but at that expense? I can see the Erden/Harangody move, but why on earth would you trade Perkins for a combo forward? Celtics fans are outraged.

Yet I still dont feel very sorry for Perk, he moved to a great/potentially better situation long term. He will be fine and over it by next week.

I think the Celtics just wanted to clear roster spots for all the possible buyouts coming up. Plus Jeff Green, might be able to become KG 2.0, plus they didnt think they could afford to resign Perkins.

Please don't ever call Jeff Green "KG 2.0" again without using words such as "poor man's" "homeless man's" or dead man's" in front of it. Thank you.

:(

He loved Boston. He was crying because he was traded. He was gonna chain himself to a bus so that he wouldn't get traded in the KG trade. Haha, wouldn't happen but kinda funny.

Still, I feel for him. He legitimately wanted to stay.

Jeff Green is softer than Charmin.

I saw an article were Doc said Green's role would be like that of James Posey in 2008.

Very true, but I suspect KG himself will work on that.

This will actually be a good test case. One place KG gets quite a bit of credit is that Perk and Rondo seemingly mirror his intensity and tendency to irritate opponents. If Jeff Green has that mean streak by this time next year (if he stays with the C's) we'll know that credit was rightly granted. What happens the rest of the year is no judge. Not enough time.

PERK = A true warrior in a league where there are less & less of them all of the time. I have a ton of respect for him, and will always root for him.

He was made to be a Celtic. I feel like the Celtics team was PERFECT for Perk and he probably won't ever be the same player again. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my take. I'm sure he is PISSED, and I bet KG & PP are too. So much for Doc's favorite line about how his starting 5 has never lost a playoff series together.

I'm honestly surprised the Thunder did this deal. Perk is just so immobile and the Thunder are an athletic type team. I hope it works out for him and them though, as I like both.

Much respect to Kendrick Perkins.

Well so far the Thunder ( Ex Sonics ) have been pretty flawless the last couple years, in moves and even gambles like drafting Westbrook, way too high at the time, I really have no reason to doubt this move, but I do agree, Perk is kind of slow for them, but they are pretty decent in half court and the playoff's slow everyone down a lot more.

Plus OKC has to go thru the Lakers and I think Perk is a bane of theirs.
