Lets do something fun. We'll redo the 2008 NBA draft Lottery.

Rules: You can't do two in a row unless 6 hours has passed between picks and 3 hours between picks no matter what. Please give copy the current lottery in each pick similar to the eliminator and add your name at the end so we know without looking back. Lets not focus too much on what NBA team is picking. 3 hours between

NBA Draft 2008
1. Derrick Rose - Pants

Star. Fun to watch. This one is easy. The Bulls got it right.

Awesome idea!
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

1. Derrick Rose - Pants (Chicago)

Star. Fun to watch. This one is easy. The Bulls got it right.

2. Russell Westbrook - CW (Miami)

Star. Very fun to watch. Just on the level barely below Rose, which is good because Rose is on an MVP level.

2. Kevin Love - Wolfenstein
2. Russell Westbrook - College Wolf
3. Kevin Love - Wolfenstein

Since CW saved me the trouble of picking second, this is easy. Westbrook is awesome... But in the end I'll go with Love, who would bring a lot to the table for a lot of teams (unfortunately the Wolves lack the shot creation and defensive presence that Love needs alongside him). He's an extremely rich man's Big Baby Davis, a rich man's Laimbeer, and he's in his 3rd year.

Perhaps an unpopular pick on this forum, but if we called OKC and offered Love for Westbrook, I bet they'd at least listen to the offer, especially now that they have the stopper in Perkins that is needed to play alongside Love. Plus they have Maynor who is solid.

Love it is.

I think OKC would turn down Love plus out #1 this year and Wes Johnson for Westbrook.

How about an hour between picking again? I don't want this to stagnate but we should give everyone a chance.

Wow there are good players left at #4. I think the entire Lottery could be solid NBA starters.

I wasn't hating on Love by taking Westbrook. That was a REALLY hard decision. In the end, I think I'd personally take Westbrook. He has more versatility and game-changeability (made that word up) than Love does.

Yeah, we could call OKC about that trade, but no way they do it. Now that they have Perkins and Nazr, they have *less* need for Love. And who would play PG for them? Westbrook is one of the best young PG's in the league.

Done. The rules have been updated accordingly. Wally, DFS, Cyco... you should consider picking.

1. Derrick Rose - Pants
2. Russell Westbrook - College Wolf
3. Kevin Love - Wolfenstein
4. Eric Gordon - WallyWorld

Great take on Gordon WW. I guess I need to watch more Clippers games to pick up that level of nuance. That really changes the entire complexion of how I see the league evolving over the next decade. I applaud you. A gentleman among gentleman.

This is where it gets very hard. Brook, Mike, DeAndre, Niki B, Serge, OJ and Kosta K. are all very intriguing players but I'm going to take Danilo Gallinari. He makes shots, he draws a ton of fouls and he makes those shots. He doesn't have the upside of Beasley but he has little to no downside.

Holy crap, once again this draft is LOADED! Just look at the big men... Love, Robin Brooke Lopez, Jason Thompson, Hibbert, JJ Hickson, JaVale McGee, Ibaka, DeAndre Jordan, Nathan Jawai, Pekovic, and Kosta Koufos the Doofus. And then you got guys like Batum, Courtney Lee, Chalmers, Moute, Sonny Weems, CDR, and Goran Dragic later in the draft. I mean, good god!

I'll take Hibbert next. I think he's probably the best big? I dunno, there are some TOUGH choices. Brooke (should bounce back?), Hickson, McGee, Ibaka, and DeAndre are also all great choices.
