The anti Derrick Rose for MVP argument is weak.

The dude is not only single handedly leading the Bulls back to the promise land but he is making all of his teammates so much better. Think Taj Gibson would have ever been as good with us? Ronnie Brewer? How about Luol Deng's resurgence? Boozer AND Noah have been hurt for half of the season and the Bulls still have the number one spot in the east!

The stats for Rose are great 24 points 8 assists per game. But the fact that he not Dwight not Lebron or Wade is a top the eastern conference and the other argument of KD who is unreal and will win numerous MVP awards I feel but KD still doesn't have as many wins as Rose with arguably better pieces around him.

Rose for MVP

No it's not, it's completely legit. Here's more, please read:

For Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose, winning alters all numbers

Pants had a good post above too.

I am still rolling with Durant, D-Ho, and LeBron. Rose is #4, at best.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

All I'm saying is take Rose off the Bulls and what kind of a team are they? No offensive identity and a team hobbled with injuries. I take back my weak statement because they are legit cases. I just see the MVP trophy going to the guy that if you take him off the team, the team is nowhere near the level they are at right now. Dwight would be my second in MVP voting.

Rose for MVP

Yep!!! You take Rose out of Chicago and they are as good as the Jazz right now.

The Magic without Howard are worse than the Bulls without Rose.

Cavs:
08-09 - 66 wins
09-10 - 61 wins
10-11 - 14 wins

Your answer lies above. Not a fan of him. But he proved his worth when the team plummets roughly 45 games without him. Or maybe it was Mike Brown!?

Yeah, I agree with you there. I have LeBron #3 personally. And the Heat without LeBron aren't significantly worse than they are now, like how the Cavs are without LeBron.

I don't care for the MVP measure by subtraction but the Cleveland w/o LeBron that we are seeing in action this year is pretty solid validation of his skill.

Could Derrick Rose have lead that crew of crap to 60 wins? I highly doubt it.

Despite what twisting of the english language and sports talk radio blather, MVP is for the best player (that season) in a given sport. The only way I would discount a player based on his team being too good is if his team was so farcically good that what he was doing was no longer affecting game outcomes. Lets say Dwight and Chris Paul joined the Heat somehow. At that point I'd raise my middle finger to the situation and take my mythical vote elsewhere. That is far from the case with the Heat. That team is getting close to zero production from players 4-12 as is possible (Hollinger put up a rare excellent piece on it).

This is a very reasonable opinion:

How is Durant not even on most writers' top 3-5 radar?!?! That is what blows my mind about the MVP race this year.

I don't get it either!?!?! What the eff? And they have a great team!

I can definitely understand pimping Howard for MVP, he deserves it. But so does Durant! It is inexcusable that he's not even being mentioned by most people.

Zach Lowe nails it here. See the first half of this article about the MVP:

Monday Musings: Thoughts on the MVP

P.S. What about Durant!?! How is NO ONE talking about him? I cannot understand this.

I think we are only allowed to talk about three guys for MVP. LeBron, Howard and Rose are only guys in the club this year. Sorry Kobe and KD better luck next year. You guys have won championships like LeB.., Derrick R..., or Dwight Ho...

Add CP3 to your list of snubs. But yeah, even as much as I DESPISE Kobe, he should still be in the MVP discussion. There is no talk of him, Durant, or CP3 anywhere to be found.

Another good read. Pretty much no stats say Rose should be MVP. It's only people that think he deserves it because the Bulls are winning. If that's the case, then give it to someone on the Spurs, because they have the best record.
