Wow this Wade argument is really stupid. #3 SG all time? You're kidding right? He's not even as good as Clyde Drexler. What about Jerry West!?!? It would be absurd to put Wade ahead of him. West is firmly entrenched at the #3 spot behind MJ & Kobe in my opinion. George Iceman Gervin won 4 scoring titles and once scored 33 points in ONE quarter. You could make a compelling argument that even Iverson is ahead of him. Wade is one of the best SGs of the past decade along with Kobe, AI, and Ray Allen, but does not even register on any all time discussions for me. If he keeps playing at a high level for another 3-5 years, we'll talk.
This is reminding me of about a week ago when CW and others were saying how crazy it was that Lebron didn't win the MVP award and how much he deserved to get it. Yea how's that working out? I think it should be clear to everyone now that best player does not equal most valuable player. There is some serious Heat player overrating going on in here.
I can't imagine working with you in real life or trying to be your friend in real life. Your communication skills are that of a child at times. Disagreeing with someone is no reason to act a Bosh on the site. People don't like disagreeing with you because you call people's opinions dumb, stupid, etc. I'd be much more amenable to your commentary if you simply would start with something like: "I know ya'll like Wade, but I think the recency effect is hampering your decision making..."
Instead you spout off w/out considering my original post. "Modern bball" was a main point of my argument. I never watched the Jerry West era, and I'm sure you have not either. Therefore, I'm not trying to compare anything to the great Mr. West. Same goes for Gervin, Havlicek, etc.
You then have MJ, Kobe, AI, Ray, Reggie, Wade, Clyde, Dumars, and maybe someone I've missed. Probably not.
Dumars was not as good as Wade. Wade is a far more complete player than Ray (my favorite), Reggie, and AI. But I do understand arguments for any of them over Wade. I just would disagree.
Clyde was indeed the only other guy I considered putting ahead of Wade. I couldn't get out of my head his inability to dribble (reminded me of Artest dribbling...anyway). I'm sure folks could debate that forever.
Not sure where this conversation gets stupid so far. Seems that it got stupid when you came in and bashed everyone. Relax, scale back your rankings (let's just consider the past 20 years or so), and accept it that not everyone will be on the Roundhouse bandwagon at all times. And that's ok, because you are just Armchair GMin' like the rest of us.
