In all seriousness. The Smith > Love debate is futile. I see WW's argument, and he's more valid than me on this because Love is MN's posterboy and his value is sky high compared to his production (in my opinion). He'll never be traded for a malcontent like the son of Magic Johnson and Rasheed Wallace in one Josh Smith.

The more interesting question is down in ATL. How do they proceed? Whatever my trade was, they should pull the trigger. They've apparently conceded the fact that Smith is gone and Horford is the building block. Fair enough. How can Josh Smith land you a big man that complements Horford? I'm not sure. Horford's range isn't that impressive nor is his back to the basket or face up shot creation. Pau Gasol would go well next to him. So would Anthony Randolph

Meanwhile, picture this. Josh Smith for something like Luol Deng and Asik. Boom! Perfect for both teams, no? I think this is my best one yet. Maybe not...You tell me.

Atlanta is doomed to salary cap hell, arguably worse than any franchise in the league. TWO HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION in contracts to Johnson, Horford, Smith and Williams. My god. The only thing they can do is wait it out 2 more years.... and make the playoffs while we end our season in April. Could be worse.

I think that deal is great for the Bulls but a sidestep for Atlanta. If that makes sense. A Rose/Smith/Thib triumvirate would be some form of masturbatory material. Deng would be meh in Atlanta.

As for the Love discussion, and to that extent all of the 'bad Beasley' talk from the media, I do want to say this: Mike is traveling the world participating in basketball exhibitions and staying active and working on his game, and probably injesting some relaxing chemicals (for which he should be shot by a firing squad). Love, on the other hand, has joined a beach volleyball team.

Gasol for Smith is good for ATL and the Lakers.

Deng/Asik for Smith is awesome for the Bulls! It would be pretty good for the Hawks too though as well.

The Hawks need to do something, and I hope for their sakes they don't trade Smith for 50 cents on the dollar. He's a stud, not his fault he's not fitting in to the best of his abilities on that crappy overpriced team.

Deng is a solid player and good defender. But I agree he wouldn't be *as good* in ATL as he was with Thibbs in Chicago.

Love is a "Cali surfer dude" at heart, I think. With that said, he mentioned in an interview that he's down like 25 pounds since last season ended. So should be interesting to see whenever they play again. He still has no muscles though. I have more definition than him.
