RoundhouseCraig Smith is undersized, and better than Williams. Ratliff's contract is expiring, and we have a better 2nd round picks to give up.
I guess you are implying that the Wolves' also had the tools to aquire Bibby? So he would be the kind of old guy who actually can ball as compared to Eric Snow

? Please don't take it personal, but compared to my proposal aquiring Snow for actually NOTHING I would really break down in tears if had wasted one of if not our biggest assets in Theo's contract on Bibby...
I will leave aside that I think Bibby is overrated as a scorer anyways, but he is just not the type of player the Wolves need. I'm the first one to claim that the Wolves need steady outside shooting to space the floor (assumed Bibby was able to provide this), but we need this primary from another position than PG. Would be nice if our future PG would also have this skill, but most of all we need a skilled and true floor general, a nifty passer with court vision and Mike Bibby just does not fit that bill. He again is one of those PGs that look for their own shot first and for other options second...not to an extend as other \"PGs\" like Allan Iverson or Gilbert Arenas do, but still to much to be a fit in the Wolves system with, for the future years, should rely on getting the ball to Al Jefferson in the low post first and see what's happening then. And for that we need a natural and pure PG who's forte is passing, not shooting. And Bibby - for a PG he is a rather bad passer, scoring mostly half as many TO as assists over the last seasons. And additionally, for most of his carreer, Bibby has highly benefitting from playing with other players who were highly skilled passers for their respective positions (e.g. Webber, Dibac, Brad Miller), helping to masquerade his shortcomings as a passer.
Maybe Bibby is a good player, maybe not. But he definitely would not have been the solution to the Wolves' PG problems. I would rather keep Bassy and see if we could get a shooting coach especially for him. But as we have often stated here...sadly there isn't put much emphasis on guard development in this franchise...
That is bargain _base_ment for Bibby
Might be, but I guess the price for superstars, especially on the downhill of their careers has dropped over the last year (leaving aside the Mavs' rediculous offer for Kidd) and I would argue that Bibby fits the superstar criteria at all. And it is a real lot of cap room they cleared for giving away an aging player that did not fit in their future pans which will feature establishing Kevin Marting as the face of the franchise and keeping Beno Udrih as their mainstay PG. Given that no one interested in Bibby would have been either able or willing to hand over a decent first rounder and SAC wanted to get Bibby of their books right now, I think they received not a good, but a decent package for him.
Please twolves give up on foye being the PG of the future.
