Totally agree, getting Artest would definately improve their team even if they have to tinker with their lineup a bit. Either of those lineups would work, although yea little hesitant at having Melo at SG.

You really want Artest to defend Boozer or Duncan in the playoffs? And if you switch and let Camby defend them (which isn't that good of an idea IMO anyways), whill Ron-Ron then guard the opposing center?

Artest is a much better defender than Kenyon Martin and not much smaller at all. Who will guard them anyways? K-Mart? Nene maybe...if he's playing by then.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Hmmm...poimt taken. I haven't seen Martin since he was running with Kidd and Jefferson and at those times, he seemed like a decent to good defender and shot blocker because of his athleticism and aggressiveness...but I tend to forget that he had mircrofrag twice since then. Haven't seen him for years, but I expect that has taken it's toll...

...isn't he at least still taller than Ron-Ron? But I guess this won't matter much if you take Artest's extremely long wingspan into account.

*sigh*

The Nuggs better pray to get Nene back...

I was wondering about that myself... so I went to check:
http://www.nba.com/players/

Martin: 6'9\" 240 pounds

Artest: 6'7\" 248 pounds

I am pretty sure Artest weighs more than that, but it's muscle weight rather than fat. Not sure how accurate either of those heights are.

Yeah, I checked that myself, but since I have learned - mostly thanks to stopnpop's comments - that those official listings are more phoney than a top manager's tax declaration, I guess that's worth not much.

And since Artest is always said to have an incredible wingspan that allows him to play taller his size...and taken into account that Martin probably isn't much of a jumper anymore...

Exactly. Even if he is truly a little bit shorter, he's a far superior defender. I don't see how it wouldn't work. K-Mart off the bench is still solid.

Wow... Artest is definitely delusional. He'd fit in perfect on the Nuggets!

But yeah, good point about these teams having first dibs on free agents. Who's gonna want to play for the Wolves when they can get the same amount of money that we could offer from teams like LA, GS, Denver, SAS, Dallas, Phoenix, etc etc etc etc x infinity.

No one is going to come play with the Wolves...They never did when we had a good team...who would come a freeze their butts off and lose at the same time...

EXACTLY. the Draft is the only way to sucker in a good player. Every free agent would rather go play on a Euro expansion team than here.

If he can ever not be on horseshyt teams, you will all see the dominance of Mr. Artest. He needs no position. Play him at the point-four. He can bring it up for the Nuggs and initiate the offense and then guard Boozer all night. Artest has always been the Daddy's second favorite player. WE need to trade for him.

Would it be a best or worst case if we traded for Artest and he kills Wittman? I loved the idea of Artest when KG was still here and I still like it. I love when Artest starts at the 3 point line and just backs his man up until he is in the post. He's the ideal SF/SG on a team that has PG deficiencies, but a good PF.

Agreed with all this. I was all for getting Artest when we still had KG. Honestly, he wouldn't be the worst acquisition at this point in time either. He's also got a very, very friendly contract.

Then we don't need your boy Gomes...Fine by me. Artest will eat Gomes alive.
