This week is being hosted by Celticsblog The rankings are not up yet... they should be today, or tomorrow at the latest.

Here's my comments and votes for this week:

MVP (1st = 10, 2nd = 9... and so on.)

10 – Lebron James: A league where he isn’t MVP this season is a league I don’t want any part of.

9 – Kevin Garnett: He stays in the thick of the race only because the Celtics have the best overall record. His stats are significantly down, but it should not be underestimated what he does for their team chemistry and defense. He is a leader in every sense of the word.

8 – Chris Paul: One of the best records in the West? Check. Averages a Double-Double? Check. Leading the league in steals per game? Check. Rescues babies from burning buildings and apprehends criminals on off days? Not yet determined, but I wouldn’t count against it.

7 – Kobe Bryant: 10 and 1 in their last eleven games. It could be because they acquired Pau Gasol… or it could be because Kobe’s just that damn good. I don’t even like the Lakers, but I’m not afraid to admit it.

6 – Dwight Howard: Averaging 21.6 points and 14.8 rebounds since the last edition of the Rankings. Somewhere Michael Olowokandi is wondering where he went wrong.

5 – Manu Ginobili: Scored 44 points against my TWolves last Thursday… I was not amused. Seriously, is anyone playing better than Manu the past three weeks? Maybe Lebron and Kobe, but that’s about it.

4 – Tim Duncan: Who won the race… the tortoise or the hare? That’s what I thought… slow and steady he goes.

3 – Dirk Nowitzki: Jason Kidd can only help his game (and the Mavericks.) Averaging 27.8 points per game since the last edition. It’s tough to praise the Mavericks for anything in particular, but at the same time you can’t really ignore them.

2 – Baron Davis: The rest of you voters have been straight hating on him all season long. Where is the love?

1 – Chris “Caveman” Kaman: This man is an absolute beast. He eats babies and dunks at the same time. He can dunk from half-court. He has a 46 inch vertical. He can play all five positions. He can defend all five positions. What a straight up man-imal. He’s still top 10 in the league in Double-Doubles, with 31. Ok, I made all of that up except the last comment… but still, what’s not to love about him?!?!

ROY (1st = 5, 2nd = 4... and so on)

5 – Kevin Durant: Winning something by default is still winning.

4 - Al Horford: Will only get better has his career progresses, but has shown flashes of inconsistency since the last edition.

3 – Al Thorton: Could easily be known as the best player in this draft 5 years from now.

2 – Jamario Moon: He won the coin flip for “Best 27 year old rookie” this time around.

1 – Corey Brewer: Because I am a homer and didn’t really see any other rookies I like.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I like these posts you do CW...I know that you have man love towards KG, but he is WAY to high on the list....

James - The KING gets help in a trade...We are witnessing the Jordan of this era

Kobe - Broken finger and still 41 points...WOW!!!

Duncan - Even more valuable than Manu...Take Duncan out of that lineup and they are barely a playoff team

Howard - A monster nothing more to say

Baron Davis - Look at the turn around in that organization since he joined them!

Chris Paul

Manu

KG - He is surrounded by talent now and the team went 5-2 in his absence. I think that if Pierce was out for time the Celtics would have a losing record during that time.

Dirk - If KG gets votes so should Dirk

Chris Bosh - Having a MONSTER year and gets no love...

Hey, thanks for the response.

I know KG is high, but as long as the C's have the best record in the league I am a believer in rewarding teams that overacheive. If the C's lose the best record, KG will drop in my rankings. He's the man, but I'm not ridiculous.

I put Manu above Duncan because he has been INSANE lately. Shooting something like 60% (or better even?) from the field.

I'm glad someone else agrees with me on Baron Davis... none of other \"voting bloggers\" ever seem too. :(

Chris Bosh would definitely be in contention for my 10th spot (with a few other guys), but I continually give it to the Caveman because he deserves the props.

KG4LVP, humor the Daddy for a minute.
I've never really liked Bosh. I really have no reason, just don't. Then I watched this year's all star game and solidified my opinions of him. While everyone else (Except Tim Duncan) was running around, dunking the ball with their elbows, dribbling with their thumbs, and shooting from half court, Bosh was profusely sweating, planted down low with his hands ready...only to clumsely gather himself several times after receiving a pass, jump up and stretch to get it up over the rim. He then ran down the court twice, YELLING AT THE REFS, madder than snot that he didn't get the foul call.

Only Tim Duncan looked less athletic than Bosh....Can't explain it since he's cleary a nice athlete.

Please rank Bosh on the up and coming big man scale from the following group: Howard, Bosh, Ol' Skool, Yao (still young), West, Kaman, Amare, Gasol, and any other's i've missed.

I agree with you on this one Daddy, and I also noticed that crap during the all-star game. Granted I rarely see the Raptors play, but whenever I do, I am Underwhelmed by Bosh. I always expect to see him do more, but he does not seem to ever leave a huge impression on me. Do you ever watch a Raptors game and come away just thinking \"WooooW, Bosh is AWESOME\". I never have. Maybe he just gets pretty big numbers because the Raptors have NO ONE, (and have never had anyone else since he's been there) else decent to play down low. I dunno. I'm not saying he's a bad player by any means, but I would highly dispute calling him a top 10 MVP candidate.

Bosh has virtually the same stats than KG this year, yet people on this board crown KG the MVP...

BOSH
22.9 PPG
9.0 RPG
2.4 APG
55 blocks

KG
18.5 PPG
9.7 RPG
3.7 APG
66 Blocks

But you yourself said, \"Maybe he gets big numbers because the Raptors have no one.\"

Is that the same excuse that you and pretty much everyone else on this board have crowned KG with???

Give Bosh the love he is due...and to the point that he \"fumed\" during the all star game shows me that he is competive even in an exhibition game which is something I like to see in a player and takes the All Star Game seriously, which is quite frankly refreshing...

Bosh isn't great, but he's no chump either.

I'm in between you guys on this one...

KG4LVP you make me chuckle. If you are beginning the KG = Bosh argument go right ahead, I shall politely excuse myself from that debate. However, As I'm sure you caught, my post was done half humor/half seriousness. Joking aside, I don't doubt he's an all star, I do however, doubt he develops into the game's elite big man. I would take him over Gasol and maybe David West but that's pretty much it. Of course my bias comes from limited knowledge as I've seen less of him than others. I wasn't asking for a copy and paste exhibit of stats, I just wanted to know your opinion/analysis of what makes him great.

Plus he looks like a dinosaur.
