The Milwaukee Bucks have traded Bogut and forward Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown,

Nice trade for the Bucks. If Bogut can stay healthy it's good for Golden State too but that's a big "if".

Watching Jennings and Monta pair up will be quite the entertaining half time show.

Yea that's an interesting backcourt. Not sure if it's going to work considering Monta & Steph Curry didn't. The Bucks are worried Brandon Jennings will skip town first chance he gets so I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded by the deadline next season.

I think Monta for Bogut would have been a decent trade for the Bucks, but getting rid of Jax's contract and getting Udoh really pushes it over the top IMO.

WHY would GS do that?!?! They get an injured Bogut that hasn't been the same for like 3 years now. When healthy, he's great... but that was 3 years ago.

Udoh has been pretty solid lately, and he's on a rookie deal! And SJax's contract sucks for them too!

I don't understand it, but it's great for the Bucks.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

The Bucks have made some solid trades lately. That trade with Sacramento & Charlotte was highway robbery even considering the fact of how badly Jax worked out for them.

Now if only they could stop handing out insane contracts in free agency to the likes of Corey Maggette, Drew Gooden and John Salmons.

I think the Warriors have it right, they are bottoming out with this trade considering Bogut is injured. (Thats the word in Twitter land anyways). That said they might also get some ticket sales with their homecoming of S-Jax, so I think it is genius (Bottoming out while increasing ticket sales, unheard of!) I mean imagine if they win the lottery or have a high pick- A front court of Drummond or Davis alongside Bogut is incredible. Talk about a one two punch in the paint. (Also they totally change their culture with this trade, becoming more interior focused offensively. And the trio of Curry, Drummond/Davis and (Healthy) Bogut is scary)

As for the Bucks, I don't get it. If you take away the fact Bogut was drafted ahead of Paul and co, and look at him for what he is - when healthy he is one of the better big men in the league. (So difficult to find)

Players like Monta and Brandon come and go like flies. Besides they are basically the same player, small guys that chuck shots and get steals on lazy defense.(Cept Brandon does get a few more assists)

That said if the Bucks do decide to trade Jennings, as you point out, they may be up to something clever. Have to wait and see.

The only problem is that Curry and Bogut are never healthy. I don't think you can rely on either of them to be healthy, it's just a bonus when they are.

Another factor that might be at work here is that Golden State has to hand over their draft pick to Utah unless it's in the Top 7. Like you said, they might be trying to bottom out.

This is up there with the Pau and Cassel trades for the worst in recent memory.

Bucks get the best player, get a young defensive prospect AND get rid of a cancer on a bad contract. All for Bogut who rarely even plays?

Though I will say Monta Ellis might be the worst thing to happen to any franchise. He is a machine which outputs 25-35 wins a year in it's sleep. Middling crappy. Too bad the Wolves couldn't get him :)

The Bucks get the best veteran and the best young player in the deal. And they dump salary from it as well.

Looks like a great deal for them.

However, if GS is just doing it to tank and keep their top 7 draft pick... well, then that's not too bad either I suppose.

Yea this draft is stacked. There are going to be really good players in that 5-10 range. That could be their rationale for doing this trade.

Monta is like Gilbert Arenas. Watching him you think he can score but kills his teammates' motivation. Then you look at conventional stats and convince yourself that he is a good team player. Then you look at advanced stats and convince yourself he is a ball hog. Then you look at more advanced stats and he looks good again. Then you look at his team's record, the most advanced stat of all, wins, tells you again that he's overrated.

That being said, he is a good scorer, and I don't think it's a bad trade for Milwaukee. Not that great, but not bad.

It will be interesting to see if Jennings and Ellis literally start defending each other when the other has the ball in order to try to get more shots for their selves.

Jennings is a gamer. He won't battle with Monta. He's also a much better defender than Steph.

This. Ya boy Jennings is not soft. He's not the most aware or savvy PG, but he's legit. He hustles on D, he's durable, and he's not dumb. I like this pairing better on D.

Whoever gets Stack Jack wins any trade. Ever.

I think only time will tell with this trade. Someone set a reminder to revisit this trade a year from now. Don't the Bucks now have three players who are exactly the same? Illyasova, Djibouti Moute, and Udoh?

I am so jealous the Wolves couldn't get Udoh or Bogut to be that defensive monster next to Love and Pek. Oh well. We still have AR who has tons of potential :(
