So much for Ariza on our team. Hornets Send Ariza and Okafor to the Wizards for Rashard Lewis and 2nd round pick.

Eff me. We definitely could not have used either Ariza or Okafor, right guys???

Just saw this. Damn.

Predicting the Wolves turn of events:
1. Beasley to LAL for MWP
2. Sign Jamal Crawford
3. Take a bearded white #18
4. Do nothing else
5.

Kahn probably "doesnt like" either of them.

Bravo Wizards. Getting $hit done quick. Building a team the right way right down to the coach....oh wait.

And to think, all it took was a $45 million contract to pull it off!!

Kahn asleep at the wheel. Again.

Great trade for Washington.

Screw you Kahn. I freakin hate you.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

2 useful players for about $20M/yr for 3 years vs. 1 useless player for $21M/yr for 2 years. I guess if taking on Okafor was a requirement to get Ariza, I understand it... I just feel that both Okafor and Ariza, overpaid though they may be, would both fit needs for the Wolves. Could we clear the space to add them?

Darko (waive) - $5M
Miller (expiring) - $5M
Webster (not useless?) - $4.5M
Beasley (expiring) - $6M

You're telling me we couldn't have done that? Do we still think we are going to land some big free agent?

They absolutely fill huge needs for us.

Yes we could have cleared the space to get them.

No we will not land a huge FA or stud in a trade.

No, Kahn is not competent.

Is there any chance we actually trade Williams for someone who does not play the same position as Love?

That would be ideal.

I'm crabby as well, but if we were all basing the success of next season on the acquisition of Trevor Ariza, then we are all dumb-f*cks. He would have been a nice player, but not the type of add that jettisons a team into a Western Contender. Do I have faith in Kahn to find a better option? Of course not!

While it sucks Kahn missed ANOTHER opportunity (and there WILL BE more), I have a steeping feeling spending $20 million on Okafor AND Ariza.... who are:

1. Glass figurines

2. In Okafor's case, still being overrated because he was ONCE a #2 pick and a stud in college 10 years ago

3. In Ariza's case, still being overrated from his playoff run with the Lakers in, like, 2008.

... probably wouldn't have been a tide-turning move.

The answer is: NO. We will not trade Williams for a useful player who plays a different position (or for a draft pick which would then be used to pick a useful player who plays a different position). We will do nothing and continue to believe that Williams and Love can play together.

The end.

Agreed, except that we wouldn't likely get anyone more useful with that $20M worth of space.
