Speaking of Rondo's triple double. He became the 3rd player to have at least 16 points, 13 rebounds, 14 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals in a game.

No Andrei Kirilenko is not one of the other guys.

The two best for the best era: Bird first did it in 1982, so Magic (the best Laker) had to come back and do it in 1983.

Good Friday night of hoops. Wish I could have been watching a bunch of these games.

Kobe shares the NBA record of 12 threes in a game. Which T-Wolves draft pick also did it?

Great post. Loved how you recapped what the teams we are competing with in the standings did too. My guess on the threes is Ray Allen?

That's the best wrong guess, since he has the NBA record for most career threes, plus shares this record:
3-point field goals made, half: 8, second half, Milwaukee Bucks vs. Charlotte Hornets, April 14, 2002

And you nailed the right college!

Unrelated, but CW's boy Kobe is quite a bit more efficient than the end of last season. This Laker shit storm is not his doing, that is for sure.

But seriously, why would we all expect anything other than .500 out of a team getting the rust off of bitchmade Howard, without Nash and his backup, and with a hobbled Pau? It's not surprising.

Problem is, the Wolves have dealt with more injuries yet they are in the same position, record-wise.

It's sad I know the answer to this. I'm pretty sure it's Donyell Marshall.

I didn't like the Celtics strategy at the end of the game last night. Rondo took the potential game winners at the end of the 4th and OT. He's their best player, but not best shooter. They should have gone to Pierce, Jason Terry, or KG. But I guess KG did have the ball at the end of OT and decided to pass to Rondo. Doc Rivers said after the game that he was hoping KG would have taken the shot.

In all fairness, Rondo is leading all guards in the entire league in FG% Mindblowing, I know.

But yeah, I am still not sure I'd want him taking the last shot at the end of a game.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Howl...yes, apparently he went 12 for 19 for the Raptors in about 2005.

McHale back. He will coach the Rockets tonight at home against the Mavericks.

Good luck tonight, Kevin!

During the halftime commentary during the LA-OKC game last night, Magic Johnson talked about Rondo and his role with the Celtics. Magic's opinion is that Rondo is the best player on the Celtics and that he should shoot even more.

Not exactly an opinion one can easily ignore.

Rajon apparently has a couple of aggression problems that it might be prudent for him to sort of rein in - kind of like, "Rondo, you need to cut that crap out!" It's also fairly apparent that, on any given night, Rondo can be as good, it not better, than anyone else on the court!

McHale was never my favorite player, especially considering the intense rivalry between the Lakers and the Celtics during that era. His "clothesline tackle" was one of the worst calls never made.

Regardless of any of that, my heart went out to him and his family when I read of his daughter's death due to complications from lupus. To have lost a child who was so young is unconscionable to me. My youngest is 26.

Welcome back, Kevin. Good luck
