Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

It's crazy how short the shelf life is for NFL RBs nowadays. If you don't start as a rookie (something that's rare), then you're looking at a realistic full-time starting role for only about four to five years before the team drafts the next young pup. Even then, you have to hope your team isn't a full-on committee style.

Well said.

It blows my mind that teams give guys like Shaun Alexander and Edge James these huge contracts when they are 30 years old. Lucky for the NFL teams they can just cut them and not worry about guaranteed contracts like in the NBA...

Yeah, there's got to be a happy medium in these contracts one of these days. While the NBA guaranteed contracts are definitely a joke (especially Houston's, Ratliff's, Vinsanity, etc.), I think it's nothing compared to the NFL rookie contracts. Would you even want a #1 pick now? Jamarcus Russell got something like $31 million in guarantees before he even took a snap. In the NBA, for the most part, you have to at least perform before getting their insane guaranteed contract.
