Another epic collapse.

Hearts ripped out again.

Sigh.

:(
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

If anyone is surprised about this loss I am shocked. Mario cannot coach to save his life and should have been fired a ways back. But lets just enjoy the brutal choking and appearances in the NFL's greatest plays as the team getting owned for the last couple years of having the team in the state. Soon we will be watching the Los Angeles Vikings of Anaheim or some shit.

Certainly no one can be shocked given that the teams were pretty close to equal overall. The way they lost was a real slap to the face.

Kevin Williams get accidentally tripped turning a no gain or a loss into a TD that stretch the Phili lead to two scores. Vikings couldn't get a couple crucial 1st downs. No time to run the ball. Apocalypse. Jackson... dead.

Enter Sage Rosenfels from stage right.

I really, really thought we had a legitimate chance to win this one (and possibly more.)

Damnit. Back to watching the crappy Wolves I guess. :(

I was watching the game at a friends house. Everybody there followed the Wolves during the KG era but no one believed that I was still actively watching the games.

Lot of them have inexplicably started watching the Wild.

Ugh, the same thing has happened with several of my friends. Makes me sad/angry/frustrated.

I can't believe people actually thought TJack was good. Those last 3 games of the year were a mirage.

Didn't really expect us to win so it wasn't a heartbreaker like years past.

Isn't it amazing they will continue to follow the Vikings, a team that has annually ripped the hearts out of their fans for about 50 years, and they will pay attention to the Wild, a sub .500 team on a downward spiral, but they are fed up with and refuse to watch the Wolves after only 19 seasons in existence and undergoing a rebuild. I guess it shows again that Minnesota is not a basketball state. Remember, when the Lakers left here they finished a 10 year period with 5 Championships and a Runner-up finish the last season.

Not really amazing seeing as how the NFL is the most popular sport in the United States. This is the state of hockey were we are a breading ground for a huge chunk of NHL players, and the wild are very much in the playoff race. You will not find a sport were the locals are more knowledgeable in the U.S. Also if the NBA would become more strict on making teams more creative about changing names and such when they move I think even if the lakers moved back in the fifties and we got an expansion team back with the same name in 89 there would be a huge following for this team even if they sucked. Once you get some banners on the ceiling win or lose its gives you legitimacy. Also the wild have accomplishmed more in 10 years of exsistence then the twolves have in 20 years. Either way the NBA is on a down turn in popularity across the whole country were the NFL has never been more popular and the Wild sell out every game if they suck or not.

I agree, it's not really hard to fathom at all.

The Wolves/NBA are clearly the least popular of the 4 major sports in Minnesota. Always have been, probably always will be.

Not only is MN not a basketball state, last time I checked the wolves are probably the worst run organization in all of sports. Fans shouldn't nor should they be expected to spend time and money on such a team, especially when they refuse to change what they are doing.

Say what you will about Roundhouse's "style", but he does have a great point. Hard to disagree with this...

All that is true about MN being a hockey state and what have you. But that is about the populous at large.

My friends all grew up playing and watching basketball and following hockey at most via video games (I watched playoff hockey as a kid but the rest of my friends didn't).

I guess its all were you live and grew up. I think the basketball community is largely based in the cities were the smaller communities are more hockey based. After you get past White Bear Lake I would say the general public prefers hockey over basketball. I have a feeling that having over a third of the year be cold and miserable might have something to do with it. Me living in the north woods about an hr from the canada border its hard for me to even get the games on tv since we dont get kstc 45 up here and fsn puts wild games on way before hoops. College hockey gets more tv time than the wolves up here. Anyways everything roundhouse said is true also. I remeber going to a wolves games as a youngster and the atmosphere was great, even before KGILLA. I think the momentum of the allstar game here and the drafting of the big ticket was the start to what could have been the hostest ticket in the state. All the front office crap along with starbury leaving and the wild capitalizing on the downturn to this organization has us were we are today. I have a feeling though for the next few years the gophers are going to be the hoops of choice in this state especially after a few Tubby recruiting classes get in here.
